It's a traditional block. A couple of years ago I started collecting graph drawings of traditional blocks for an (eventual) sampler, & this is one of my favorites. Didn't actually think I'd be able to do it in a 6" block, but it worked :)

Mizgoodie 03-20-2011 07:24 PM

Very nice! You did a great job.

DogHouseMom 03-20-2011 07:26 PM

gramarraine 03-20-2011 07:29 PM

If that is a 6" block it is more amazing that ever. All I can say is WOW!

sushi 03-20-2011 07:30 PM

Great block! It'll make a stunning quilt. And that red-and-black fabric is to die for!

Aimee, love your block, what size does it finish at? Good job, thanks for sharing.

Aimee G 03-20-2011 07:51 PM

It will finish at 6". It's part of a pink sampler quilt. (I take horrible pictures; it's actual color is hot pink)

I'm jealous... I tried to make that block and the pieces wouldn't got together right...
Your's is reallly pretty and awesome...
I'm still going to keep working at it ... I'm smarter than a quilt block... I think.
