These are chairs I recently did for a craft show. The ones with the dahlia seats were picked up at auction really cheap, and the patchwork one was a discard from our church which was sold at our garage sale this summer. It is actually an antique but is not safe enough to sit on. I am labeling all of the "for decorative purposes only."

A beautiful job on the chairs. Do think people will want to sit on those or just use them for decorations?

rexie 09-27-2011 04:51 PM

Those are beautiful, Is the patchwork one done with decoupage?

Katia 09-27-2011 05:11 PM

Those are so pretty, but I agree, I couldn't bear to sit on them.

valsma 09-27-2011 05:13 PM

I love them, wow what a great idea for the seats, but like someone else said; to pretty to sit on.

Podunk Princess 09-27-2011 05:28 PM

Wow! Great way to preserve an old chair. I've got one waiting for a "treatment" and may steal your idea.

I decoupaged it with fabric scraps (yeah, got rid of some of them!). Did 2 more coats of Modge Podge after the first coat, sanded lightly between coats. Sprayed with a fixative.
It's still rough but is OK for decoration.
