I tried cutting the squares in half and it works pretty nice. I used 5 inch squares as I had soooooooooooooo many of them. The one with the border I had used a mint green as the base, so I turned it up and made the border. It works our real well

Very pretty. The one with the green would be lovely in my home. :D

Looking good !
I am also doing one, a tester, AND I just got them cut out, folded and pressed. I didn't think I would ever get through pressing them. Seem like everytime I got one pressed, another two would pop up. That's 56 pieces of material in one block. I quit for tonight, my back is killing me from standing there pressing. I have a bad back anyway, I know better than to stand very long in one position. I am now sitting in my chair with my back massager on, it hurts so good, I really must be sore. I'll pay for it tomorrow. Mine is done in greens with a couple of reds thrown in. If it turnds out ok, I might make another one for a pillow. I was thinking about a quilt, but I'm thinking of giving up on that idea. Syl |
I guess you could just cut 3 inch strips of 7 colors and it would be easier. I don't think I would want a quilt made of them, as they are heavy. I think I will work with some different colored paper and do some that way for decorations. I am sure the original pattern was in paper. Orgami use to be very popular. joyce
