your mom put a lot of work into that is it great! how about a green for the sashing and maybe a lavendar cornerstone at each intersection maybe using a 2" strip
|
A treasure for sure!

I like the sashing idea, a lot of work and love was put into these pieces.

Yes I would NOT take it apart to add sashing. Borders are a great idea. I can see feathers all around the cross stitching. Going to be a beauty when finished.
|
Gorgeous!! I agree with a light green to match or coordinate with the leaves. What a lucky find. I'm sure your mom would live to have you finish them.

really like this suggestion. what a treasure you have. also liked the idea of cutting down the squares. running ahead, how about cross-hatching the white back ground of the blocks? :)
went back and looked at it. don't think they can or should be cut down, but do think the sashing and quilting will add to its beauty.

Can anyone give me an idea as to what I should use that wouldn't take the emphases away from the cross stiching? Any help would be appreciated.

A scalloped white border---this is so feminine and delicate

I think a soft color sashing would be pretty, and show off those beautiful cross stitched flowers.

Use a narrow green the same as in the leaves to do sashing.
