Try Oxyclean it takes out most everything. Cute..

There is a rust remover that you can buy at the grocery store. Ususally next to the silver, etc., polish. Great fomd.
Ok, great find. The rust remover is for spots in fabric I think.

If you have trouble with the rust stains.....soak them in lemon juice. We had some 100 year old christening dresses we inherited with rust and the lemon trick....worked wonders. They came out like new. Looks like you happened on a really lovely vintage piece.

I have heard to that u can use lemon juice on it and put in the sun . Great find. Love that kind of hand work.

That is a real treasure... |
What a cute find!

Thourghly wet the quilt in warm water. Lay it flat on a table outside in the sun and take a bar of Sunlight Laundry soap and very gently rub the fabric with the soap. Leave it out in the sun. Dip into a pail of warm water and redo with soap again. Leave in the sun again. You may have to do this a few times. Try not to rub the fabric. Once the stains are gone wash very gently and be sure to rinse thoroughly. I did this recently with an eighty year old christening gown and it came out snow white.

Cute!! So glad you snatched it up. Those pixies look like the little "boo boo's" in the Mabel Lucie Atwell{1879-1964} pictures. They are meant to protect babies and little children. There was a fabric line that came out in about 2001 featuring them and little children. I still have some. You may be able to get the rust out of the background fabric with a product called Iron Out. Do a test spot first. {It is used for toilets, sinks, tubs, and white clothes.} Take care not to use it on colors. Enjoy your quilt!

I'VE USED WINK TO GET RUST STAINS OUT.

So darling!! I love pixies, elves and fairies. I would have rescued it too. Glad it found a home and I hope it comes clean for you. :)
Cute rescue.
It's adorable. You have to wonder why anyone would just put it in a throwaway box and why, if it was made by a family member, nobody wanted to keep it. Enjoy!!!

OMG! That is the cutest thing! You scored.
Great catch! I hope it all comes out in the wash...
Try soaking it in Oxyclean, I have found that usually takes out most stains and doesn't destroy any fabrics or floss
Bet it is from the 1950's. Looks like my baby quilt my mom made me.
Adorable! I hope the stains come out.
Thats a real cutie.

If it is rust on the quilt. Go to the laundry section of your grocery store and buy rust out. It's a clear liquid that when you put it on rust on cloth the rust magically disappears before your eyes. It's easy on fabric. I always keep a bottle around.
Hope it all comes out. It's really cute.
