Frozen Quilt

Thinking about adding a dark blue border. Then quilting. Meandering. The only pattern that I can somewhat quilt. I'm planning on using white thread but don't know if I should keep meandering over the faces. So far this has been a lot of work.

I'm sure it will be a much loved quilt. If it were mine, I would not meander on the faces. I can never bring myself to do that.

I'm doing one that is a panel,,, yours was much more creative than mine will ever be! Some little girls is going to fall in love! I don't think I would meander over the faces... But maybe do a small amount of defining lines,,,, the chin... Eyebrows. Maybe some soft curvy lines in the hair. Etc, love it. Great job

Great job! Your paper pieced portraits are super but check the batting quilting requirements. I would quilt around the edge of the faces and if needed, add a little quilting or thread painting inside them. OR I might use thread the matched the background in the portraits and stitch with batt just behind the squares for a trapunto effect, trim away the extra batt beyond the stitching line and the sandwich the whole quilt. It would make the portraits stand out a bit especially if you stippled the background around them.

This is one I hadn't seen before, may I ask where you got the pattern? I just found out my grand daughter wants one and it's seems all but impossible to find the panel, they are back ordered for months!

You may want to resize the patterns to make them bigger when printing them out.
