Several have asked for the full size view of this Dresden Plate. It was a customer quilt, she had bought the blocks at an auction and finished the piecing. Thanks for taking a peek....

I really like the different types of Dresden Plate.
Nice

That is cool. Your motifs int he corners form their own little design. Couldn't spot that in the small photo. Thanks

ruthie 06-17-2012 06:33 PM

Very pretty.

I, too, love "Fancy Dresden Plate" patterns, tho I wouldn't want to actually try to make one. I also like that this one is on a 1930's blue (what was the blue called? I know it had a special name but I can't think of it) instead of muslin. This is just a spectacular quilt & I'm so glad it now belongs to someone who loves & respects it. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Oh my, I absolutely love that. Thanks for sharing. Peggy

what a beautiful dresden plate, I love all the different details that was adopted into the quilt. Is there a pattern for this particular one and or is there a book for fancy dresden plates, well I guess I need to do some surfing to see what I can find especially since the dresden and the log cabins are my favorites.
Thanks for sharing.

LindaMRB 06-18-2012 04:24 AM

That's a very different Dresden plate. Any idea when they were pieced? I love that “different” center.
I am in awe of your quilting...

catladyquilts 06-18-2012 04:48 AM

I have never seen that setting for a Dresden Plate before, that gives it a different look. Great job

chairjogger 06-18-2012 05:17 AM

Fun center take on dresden!

BeckySt 06-18-2012 05:20 AM

Beautiful quilting on a beautiful quilt. I love the little motif you quilted.

feline fanatic 06-18-2012 07:22 AM

OMG Lyn, You kind of cheated us on your original post not giving us a full shot of this beauty and all the exquisite quilting you did. You do know you are allowed to post more than one picture in any topic
;)
Thank you so much for giving us the full quilt and I am so happy I managed to stumble across this post. In the future you can also add a picture to your original topic and ask a moderator to amend the title to say "additional pictures on page xxx" Many who asked on your original thread may not see this topic.

This is truley a winner even if it never gets a blue ribbon. It is awesome. Like a master painting in a museum, I could look at this one all day, every day and just get lost in it. Thanks to the person for saving the blocks and piecing them and to you for quilting this beauty.
peace

QUILTNMO 06-18-2012 05:23 PM

I really like the cathedral style center such a creative way to change a standard pattern:-) Love it!

Cindy60545 06-19-2012 03:12 AM

this is one of the prettiest Dresdens I've seen. The person that started it had a great color sense, the person who put it all together did a terrific job & the quilting just made it outstanding! Kudo's to all.

luci4 06-19-2012 03:17 AM
