Once I figured out the math and chose the fabrics! I made a two color version too, with prints, that was a failure!
The last picture is a older version.

nicely done... i asume it's done with partial seams... i'm working on hexies with a border and used partial seams

Tartan 04-21-2015 08:44 AM

Very clever!

Geta 04-21-2015 09:00 AM

Yes, it's done with partial seams.

FabStripper 04-21-2015 09:21 AM

BEAUTIFUL!! Is this your pattern? Can you share? It is real nice. I think my math would consist of cutting bigger triangles and cutting them after I sew each one on. Is it easy to do? It looks so great.

wolph33 04-21-2015 09:21 AM

those are beautiful

QUILTNMO 04-21-2015 09:37 AM

great blocks!!!

Geta 04-21-2015 09:41 AM

Yes, it's my pattern. Once you know the size of the triangles (it has to be very precise), the block is very easy to sew.

ManiacQuilter2 04-21-2015 09:50 AM

Gorgeous but too much math for me!!

nannyrick 04-21-2015 10:15 AM

Awesome blocks!!! Thanks for sharing.

JuneBillie 04-21-2015 10:23 AM

Those are very nice. :)

Annz 04-21-2015 12:18 PM

They are all very attractive. Good for you to figure these triangles out.

lfstamper 04-21-2015 12:27 PM

What a great challenge

LadyElisabeth 04-21-2015 01:10 PM

Great job keeping everything straight.

tessagin 04-21-2015 01:17 PM

Look great!

Barbara Kantola 04-21-2015 01:28 PM

You do such wonderful, intricate work, Geta! I really admire your work, but I don't think I'm up to figuring it out myself! I will just have to admire from afar! Thank you for sharing!

Lovely design ... have followed your website for many months now. You are one in a million.

redquilter 04-21-2015 03:11 PM

You do the most incredible work. Your color choices are wonderful and you do such perfect piecing. Its a pleasure to look at your quilts.

I really like this block! Very cool.

Painiacs 04-22-2015 01:55 PM

Wow! Looks like origami we used to do as kids!!! Would love the pattern , not sure I could cut triangles as I'm visually impaired but maybe a friend would help me if I shared fabrics!! :)

bearisgray 04-22-2015 02:04 PM

Spectacular - as usual !!!!!

twinkie 04-23-2015 02:26 AM

Very nicely done.

2manyhobbies 04-23-2015 03:36 AM

So unique!

That 4-lettered word, math, scared me off right there! Great job.

Kathleen charnell 04-23-2015 04:41 AM

I love your blocks! Can you share the pattern? Thanks

Karen G 04-23-2015 04:58 AM

Awesome with the fossil fern fabrics. Will be looking forward to a pattern.

SuziSew 04-23-2015 05:03 AM

Geta, you should consider doing a tutorial on this! I think there is a lot of interest!

quiltlady 04-23-2015 05:07 AM

Would love to know your math formula. Intriguing pattern - great job. This could probably be done with paper piecing also. hmmm food for thought.

mirish2 04-23-2015 05:30 AM

Very interesting. It looks like a photo of the galaxy.

MaggieLou 04-23-2015 06:07 AM

Very pretty. Please do a tutorial.

ccthomas 04-23-2015 03:57 PM

Beautiful blocks.

matraina 04-23-2015 04:56 PM

They are all cute but my favorite is the top one.

Jackie R 04-23-2015 06:13 PM

You are amazing - these are very pretty.

quiltingcandy 04-23-2015 06:23 PM

That is very pretty. Are you doing EPP? Or just cutting triangles? It's neat they way you keep getting smaller. My fingers would get in the way of your small ones.

cwessel47 04-23-2015 07:44 PM

I have used this pattern a number of times. It is in my all time favorite book: Scrap Quilts by Judy Martin. An oldie but goodie. The pattern is called Oriental Star. Geta has taken it a few steps further but you can find the basics there without having to do the math.

Lilrain 04-23-2015 10:32 PM

Wow, you did a great job.
