Fun making this Xmas Tree

I don't have room for a real one so I am trying to get this finished so that I can hang in on the inside of my front door. Can't decided which border fabric to use. I like the watercolor batik but also love the dots in the fabric on the left looking like snow falling.

Very pretty. I vote for the Batik. Love it!

fred singer 11-09-2014 03:59 PM

very nicely done

I vote for the batik. It's a beautiful tree! The colors behind the tree remind me of the sky's colors at sunset on a cold day.

quilter711 11-09-2014 04:09 PM

I like the snowflakes falling!! Very pretty.

tesspug 11-09-2014 04:14 PM

I prefer the snowflakes falling. Very pretty. You could sew on some sparkly beads to go with the topper.

MaryMo 11-09-2014 04:23 PM

very pretty and practical! I vote for the darker dots ....... like snow falling.

BrendaY 11-09-2014 04:31 PM

Snowflakes are my choice... Lovely quilt!

Fotoula 11-09-2014 04:34 PM

Beautiful tree - I like the snowflakes!

sandyfullmer 11-09-2014 06:18 PM

I think I prefer the batik for the border. It's a very pretty quilt!

Mariposa 11-09-2014 06:26 PM

Pretty tree. I vote for the "snowflake" one too~

Phyllis42 11-09-2014 06:33 PM

I vote for the snowflake.

Tartan 11-09-2014 07:04 PM

I have to vote for the Batik also, but either one would be just as nice. Love your idea!!
:D :D :D :D

rootyr 11-10-2014 01:48 AM

I vote for Batiks too!

Gannyrosie 11-10-2014 02:55 AM

Just put both of them. B atiks first to complement the tree, and then the dots to have the snow flowing around. Beautiful tree.

Very pretty and compact Christmas tree-just a great size for you if you are limited on space. I vote for the batik. I think it gives a little movement around the tree.

BrendaK 11-10-2014 05:47 AM

Very pretty. So far I've counted 8 for the Snowflakes and 7 for the Batik's. I also can't make up my mind. Both would be very kool. Wonder what it would look like with the tree made up of only the Snowflakes and the border the Batik?
Maybe I'll go for the Batik so then the count would be 8 and 8. So glad we could help you make the decision. You did a super job on the background and the whole thing. Be sure to show us a picture when you figure it out.

I vote for the dotted one, but both are great choices. Very pretty!

zzmom 11-10-2014 08:33 AM

Love your batik tree! I vote for the dotted fabric on the left. Good job!

RainyBC 11-10-2014 10:11 AM

Beautiful! I like either one. I'd love to see what you choose for the finished quilt.

Grandma Peg 11-10-2014 11:31 AM

Very nice wallhanging.

QUILTNMO 11-10-2014 11:32 AM

northern lass 11-10-2014 12:00 PM

Lovely hanging

decky 11-10-2014 01:20 PM

My vote goes for the batiks.

ManiacQuilter2 11-10-2014 02:34 PM

THANKS for all your input. Both green fabric are batiks. The one on the right is a watercolor Hoffman and I think the dots are from Robert Kaufman Artisan collection.

Linda OH 11-11-2014 04:16 AM

I vote for the dots. It makes the quilt sparkle.

WMUTeach 11-11-2014 05:03 AM

What a wonderful way to use up some 2.5 squares! Aren't you the clever one! Thanks for sharing.

Annz 11-11-2014 05:48 AM

It looks really nice and I would say that the batik makes the tree stand out better.

Carol34446 11-11-2014 08:07 AM

I would put a border with snowflakes not too wide and then the batiks on outer border, try that and use some hot fix crystals on the tree.

pal 11-11-2014 10:13 AM

I think the batik is too "heavy". My vote is for the falling snow.

MargeD 11-11-2014 11:32 AM

I vote for the batik, makes your tree really stand out.

Tothill 11-11-2014 12:28 PM

The green with the dots makes me think of snow falling.

I love your Christmas Tree.

Karamarie 11-11-2014 06:24 PM

After reading all the responses, I think a flip of a coin is needed! They both will work great. Let us know what you choose with a pix.

MadQuilter 11-11-2014 06:33 PM

Either one will work. It's cute.

solstice3 11-12-2014 04:56 PM

I love batiks
