Fun mystery quilt flimsy done

1 Attachment(s)
Found this mystery on a FB group-pattern is by Georgia Goebel, and I don’t believe it has a name! She did this mystery in 2013, I believe, and reposted the clues recently, along with the finished quilt, so technically, not a mystery!
My 7 yr old grandson has been with me a lot this summer, and he is on the autism spectrum. He loves puzzles, so I let him put all of the pieces of this quilt puzzle together for me....he loved it and asked if he could have the quilt.....well, of course! :)
The fabrics are actually leftovers from the quilt I made for his Mom last year.
Waiting on backing to arrive, and hope to get this quilted and bound before he returns to school next week. No idea how to quilt it...yet...

Beautiful quilt, I can see why your grandson loves it. Love the colours. Thank you for sharing.

Your quilt is beautiful! So wonderful to have your grandson be a part of this quilt! He will treasure it forever and remember making it with his Grandma. Thank you for sharing your quilt and special story. It warms my heart.

What a beautiful quilt. So glad your grandson wants it as it will be a forever reminder of the good time he had with you & helping make that quilt.

Great top!

Lovely! And your Grandson can say he helped make a quilt on his Summer vacation.

That is fantastic! What a wonderful memory you made with your grandson. Once he gets it home he will be able to compare his quilt to mom's and find matching fabrics!

I really like the pattern...any chance you can post a link to the Facebook page?

I sent you a private message-not sure if I am allowed to link the FB page here, and I don’t know how to link a FB page! Haha

Beautiful quilt and colors.

That depends. Some FB pages can be viewed by the public without signing up. If signing up is required to see it, then it is not permitted to be posted here. That being said, many patterns appearing on FB are often hosted elsewhere. If that pattern appears on another site, then go there and link that site page here.

Beautiful quilt! I love the colours! What a fun time it must have been for your grandson to help, and then have the quilt once it's finished.

Great quilt and so cool how your grandson helped.

Great job! I printed the pattern each week but I have not started it yet. It is one my list of things to make.

Now that is a treasure to have your grandson participate, and then to receive it as a gift. What a precious memory of your time together!

What a wonderful scrappy quilt! You two will always remember those happy summer days making this quilt. What a gift.

juliasb 08-09-2019 05:51 AM

It has one of my favorite star patterns in it (Missouri Star or Twin Star). I love how the colors are brilliant and every piece sets into motion the pieces that surround the next pieces. Beautifully done. I am sure your GS will love it.

Iceblossom 08-09-2019 06:15 AM

I really like that, what a great mystery quilt and what a nice story to go with it.

Was chatting with my cousin yesterday and I mentioned that really quilting is just my way to play with puzzles!

Rhonda Lee 08-09-2019 10:02 AM

Wonderful quilt and how sweet to have your grandson participate in putting it together. This will be a great memory treasure for him for a long time.

That's a really intriguing quilt pattern. You did a terrific job of sewing it, and your grandson did a great job arranging the pieces. What a neat memory for both of you. I'm sure he will treasure it and feel proud of himself for his contribution to a lovely work of art.

peaceandjoy 08-11-2019 04:54 PM

Beautiful! I'm in that group as well, and have saved the clues (although it's not a mystery anymore, lol), but have several other things to finish before I start anything new. Yours is wonderful!

patmas57 08-12-2019 04:30 PM

Great story and lovely quilt, and so wonderful of you to involve him in a way that made him shine.
