My friend & former neighbor asked me to quilt a top that her mother had made. Her mom had died before she had a chance to quilt it. I had a lot of fun quilting this quilt. I bet her mom had a lot of fun putting it together, too. I sure hope she likes what I did.

What a cute quilt. I'm sure your friend is very happy with your quilting and will treasure this.

It is darling and whimsical, it is sure to bring a smile to your friend's face, what a wonderful keepsake for her, a blessing knowing her mom was working on it to now have it finished, surely a treasure for her. I love the piano key border and the quilting brings it all together.

I wish I knew the pattern name. I wouldn't mind making one for myself. Each block represents a month.

That is SO cute! I love the blocks she did....and all the hand stitching is awesome! I wonder if there was a pattern or if she designed it herself. What a wonderful keepsake to have from her mother!

This is a quilt that was done on Simply Quilts by Alex Anderson several years ago. It is nice to see one finished and done so well. Mine sits in a UFO box, makes me want to get it out and finish it.

grammysharon 03-17-2013 09:53 PM

All my friend said was the it was a block of the month type of quilt and that her mom had enjoyed putting it together, and that they talked about each block as she made them. I googled Strolling the Block and it's the same pattern. I couldn't find out if it is still available. Thanks Nativetexan for the pattern name and thanks to everyone for the compliments.
