It uses the Magic Circle template which is sold on MSQC. :)

Eddie did a tutorial on this some time ago. It most likely is still in the tut's section. His was a templet he had bought in Arkansas, I think. but the same method is used.

I have the magic circle too. I am pretty sure there was a video that they used to market it. I made one. Kinda fun. I also use it to mark my quilts for quilting an orange peel design. Very nice for that.

I guess eddie's tutorial is just a little different than this magic circle one . Now where was that hickory nut tutorial? I am sorry, I hope I didn't confuse someone.

A friend of mine made one with denim for the backing. She used a salad plate for the templet.

I used a 10 inch dinner plate for niece to use for pattern
