Since graduations were done - I improvised - meet my granddaughter, Emelia.

Now I think I need to make one of each of the other 5 grandkids!

The tutorial is a download under the quilt pic.

It was so long and involved, I didn't want to type all that in here.

Once again, a fabulous result.

That girl is just precious. And the way you transferred the curls in the ponytail and folds of her dress is just amazing.

Thank you so much for sharing.

I'm going to do the flower, I'm going to do the flower, I'm going to do the flower.

Yes, paper pieced. Here's a link to where I posted it. Near the end of the comments I posted the link to the pattern. Thank you!

Would this be safe to wash later, or should I do some kind of satin stitch around it so that it is washable? Thanks

VickyOH 06-14-2011 08:47 AM

Wow! What a beauty--GD and quilt.

I have never tried washing quilts with fusible. I do not know how strong the bond is. These were designed as wall hangings, so they could just be damp cloth washed.

Doing satin stitching would be great to secure it, but I wanted something fairly quick to do, and thought it would be very time consuming to do the quilting.

Another option may be to all over stipple or something like that to help secure the edges.

grammatjr 06-14-2011 08:52 AM

Please, anyone that makes a quilt using this technique, be sure to post it, I would love to see how the instructions work for everyone. And, then I know my idea is desirable - a goal for anyone who is trying to "teach" - right?

Opal Jane 06-14-2011 09:48 AM
