Found this at a garage sale last Saturday. Took it to be cleaned and oiled and new belt. She works great. I was told she is a 1926. Don't know a lot about feather weights but couldn't seem to leave her.

Oh, I'm jealous! What a find!
oh wow.. she doesn't look like she was very well taken care of! congratulations and at yard sale.. who hooo!
I wouldn't have left her behind either! There is a lot of info on the web about featherweights. Just google it. Enjoy! I just love mine.
She is beautiful! She isn't from 1926 though. Featherweights were first introduced in 1933 at the Worlds Fair. She has a numbered tension dial and the bobbin tension is on the top of the bed which leads me to believe she was born after 1934. She is a real beauty for her age!

I keep thinking that one day I am going to find one of these, hasn't happened yet, nice find, enjoy.
That is Awesome...congrats!

What a little dandy. Can't wait to get one of those. Well, no, actually, I've been waiting lots of years now. Just haven't found my treasure yet. I know she's out there somewhere just waiting for me too. Hope you got a garage sale price.

She's a beauty! If you go to the Singer website
http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html or call 1-800-4-SINGER with the serial number of the machine, you can find out the exact date she was 'born' |
Congratulations! I would not have been able to leave her behind either!
Amazing. Dont know what you paid. But I saw several at our Phoenix quilt show, they wanted 400.00 and up!! Hopefully you got a better deal than that. :)
Don't blame you one bit! I couldn't have left her either. Congrats nice find!
great find - you are so lucky
Lucky you! I wish I could find one.

Jealous! Big time!
She's a beauty. I love the scroll work on the faceplate.
Wow! She's pretty! Does she have a name yet? :)
SWEET!!!
Wow :) Lucky you! She's beautiful!!
Congrats! Great find! I agree with Mitch's Mom-those seeking FWs should buy a pack of bobbins for it or some such as bait. I bought my first FW from Craigslist, drove a ways away. Took it straight to the regional Singer repair center to buy her bobbins, and my 2nd FW was right there waiting for me-1/4 mile from my house! They are social!
She's a keeper!
Oh she is beautiful! I have several my oldest on is from 1934 and her name is Abby. Have you given her a name yet? You are just gonna love her. Congrats on finding her, she sure is pretty!!! Let us know when she has a sibling, cuz you've been bitten by the Featherweight bug!!!
what a great find.

I have one myself, was in the attic when I moved in here. I saved this web site that was posted here to find the birthdate.
