Garden of Opportunity
2 Attachment(s)
One of my sisters has just split with her husband. It has been a toxic relationship for a long time so it is really a good thing. But she is having a hard time. My mom suggested I make her a fabric hug to snuggle in. I found this pattern in the magazine "America Makes Fast Quilts" and just fell in love with it. And the pattern name was so appropriate for the situation.

I wish I had a sister, maybe she would have done the same for me if I needed a hug. Its very different but awesome at the same time, she will love you and her quilt.
AWWWW that is beautiful! When my sister split up with her husband I made her a quilt! She said she wish she could've had the money it cost to make the quilt. I told her to check the slit in the label and get herself something with it.! I knew she needed some financial assistance along with the snuggle material. She never spent the money in the label but that's where she puts her mad money and no one really ever knows to look for it. The label is actually spread through out. It's a good size quilt not quite queen. Works for her. She calls it her "SECURITY BLANKET"!
Pretty quilt! It will be a constant reminder for her that she is much loved!
Wonderful quilt.....

Very nice huggie!!!
Thank you all,
actually the blue batik fabric was decided based on the thread I planned to use for the quilting. My original thought was to use different colored solids however I couldnt find them all.....then a fellow board member who happened to be at the store too noticed that batik. It was actually perfect. |
Wonderful quilt to cheer her and make her feel so loved!!!! Just beautiful!
Beautiful quilt!
Very, very pretty, should hug her just right. Tell her what I told my sister when she finally dumper her husband, get mad at him, not mean, just finally get mad for all the trouble he gave her and then admit to herself that she deserves so much better, she doesn't deserve whatever he dished out. She needs to realize she is a good person who deserves more - I learned that lesson long ago.
