The Geese on Our Pond Thread Painting
 

My daughter took this photo of the geese on our pond. I decided I wanted to give thread painting a try, and this is the result. I do want to thank Mamia and Grandmajuki on this board for their input on how to do the thread painting as I had never tackled it before. Once I got started it was quite fun!! The geese are shaded with just different shades of grays and blacks. On the water I did use some Derwent Inktense paint/ pencils to get the right effect.

I am so impressed with the talent this board has to offer. This is absolutely incredible. Sometimes I think I'm pretty good at some of the things I produce & then when I see things like your thread painting it just blows my socks off! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous piece of art.

I agree and am also curious. Did you print the photo on to fabric and then thread paint over it or did you start with blank fabric and then trace the geese in or free hand draw them, then do thread painting and ink tense embellishment? Would love to know more about the process as I am sure many of us would. Please come back and post how you went about creating this beautiful piece.

I fused a pure white fabric to the background and then painted them with thread only.
