What a kind and generous gift :D:D:D

mimee4 01-31-2011 12:34 PM

Quilts for Kids will be so happy to hear this. Now the problem is to sew up the quilts. LOL. I have only one done and just got the "rest" of the fabric for the next one. I better get busy, too.

QUILTNMO 01-31-2011 12:36 PM

how nice and lots of lucky kids

Grandma Peg 01-31-2011 12:47 PM

How nice that she donated it. Have with all your projects.

dkabasketlady 01-31-2011 01:18 PM

All that fabric will make some very nice quilts for charity!! It'll keep you busy for a LONG time!

My DH came up with the idea of the closet rod. {{smile}} The closed boxes below are fill of felt, fleece, home deco, canvas, tulle, etc...that are not best used in quilting. There are two small boxes of flannels (at least 1 yd +) and the larger box on end is pieces of fabric less than a yard. Keep in mind, this new stash did not fit into my sewing room.....I have encroached upon another room...hehehehe.

A lot of kids will be very happy from the results of your DS find...Happy quilting ladies...
:-D :-D :-D :-D

Beautiful fabrics.

annieshane 01-31-2011 03:42 PM

Isn't it heartwarming to know there are so many wonderful people with big hearts so ready to help! Sometimes, folks just don't know how or where it is needed.

Your collection is beautiful. Do post some of the beauties as you complete them!

Sheila Elaine 01-31-2011 03:53 PM

That's great & the folks at Q 4 Ks will be happy to get lots of quilts. Bless you.

Had this happen to me recently as well. Stopped at a Yard Sale. The lady asked if I was looking for anything specific. I answered yes, we are making pillowcase dress for little girls in Haiti & I am looking for fabric & notions/trims for this project. She gave me two large plastic tubs full of fabric & notions & said there was more where that came from. Her mother was cleaning out her sewing room. This was only the beginning & they would call & let me know when the project was completed & I could come pick up the "rest". Thanking the Lord for them & that stop that morning. It took me a week or more to wash, dry, iron, fold & organize all of that fabric. There will be LOTS of darling dresses for those little girls in the coming weeks & months. And, probably several donated children's quilts as well. So much fun!! What a special blessing & huge praise for God's provision.

mamajack3 01-31-2011 08:22 PM

That will keep alot of kiddos warm and happy. Good for that nice lady and ya'll for making them.

Bubblegum0077 01-31-2011 08:29 PM

How wonderful to get such a huge supply of fabric. I have been working on two quilts for kids and almost done. Have fun making them.

Charming 01-31-2011 08:37 PM

That's great really. If there is any quilting material that you think is not suitable for kids' quilts please consider donating to this non profit organization (www.breastcancerdiy.com). I have been helping this organization make mastechtomy pillows for local breast cancer patients for a year now.

Thanks

Faten

Bless her warm heart!

I wish I could find "deals" half as good as what is found by others on this board.
