I was asked to make a "Badge" quilt as a fundraiser for the local Explorer group. Cherokee county does a wonderful job of engaging and inspiring at risk youth. It was my pleasure to create this for them.
Badges are from all parts of the US [ATTACH=CONFIG]13807[/ATTACH] Of course there are MANY from Georgia [ATTACH=CONFIG]13808[/ATTACH] The Maltese Cross has significance for the fire service [ATTACH=CONFIG]13809[/ATTACH] |

Way cool! My son has a bunch of badges, but not that many! I sewed them all on a jacket of a fireman puppet. It's cute, but not nearly as impressive as this quilt you've done!

WOW!! Wonderful quilt!!! My DH BFF would love a quilt like that. He's a firefighter in Denver and collects badges from everywhere he can. Great idea!

What a wonderful idea! My husband used to be a police officer and he has collected patches from all over the United States. His mother had them mounted and framed on a mat under glass. The mat is kinda getting faded. Wonder if I could convince him to let me make a quilt like this for him. It is a wonderful quilt and I know it will raise alot of money.

Thanks for all the nice compliments. The quilt was delivered today. They were so appreciative and proud of the badges displayed. Most of all, the firefighters loved the Maltese Crosses in the back of the stars.

Awesome, our Pastor is the Chaplin of the fire department in his county. I bet he would like that. His wife is a quilter, wonder if she would make him one!!!!!!
