I finished this customer quilt this week. She wanted something that played up the fabric and the squares. No panto. This is what I came up with. I felt like I was on a magic carpet ride because it brought up lots of far out memories of the 70's. It was definitely a change from the usual. :-)

Oh wow! I love it and the memories it creates!

seamstome 03-14-2011 07:41 PM

I made that quilt. It was groovy for sure. You did a great job quilting it.

DogHouseMom 03-14-2011 07:42 PM

Ok ... how bizarre is this. I just (like 5 minutes ago!) saw a picture of the same quilt with the same fabric hanging in a quilt shop in Louisville KY (forget me Knot Quilt Shoppe on their Facebook page).

It's gorgeous!! Caught my eye enough to remember it so well.

Great jobs all-around.

That is just too funny! I went to their facebook page to have a look. Sure enough! There it is! Thanks. The gal who pieced this quilt is one fabulous piecer. Everything is square and precise! Love her quilts.

SueDor 03-15-2011 04:27 AM

Great job!

JoyVoltenburg 03-15-2011 04:32 AM

The quilt design was all free motion. I laid a length of plastic on top of the quilt and used some dry erase markers to come up with a design I liked. The top told me it wanted swirls, so I tried different designs until I came up with this one. I like the "swirlygigs" in the *plain* blocks and the center design in the pieced blocks -- that particular one I will use again. The border design was one I'd used before, but with feathers instead of swirls.

Thanks! I had fun with this one and the customer loved it.

MrsM 03-15-2011 07:35 AM

This is so cheerful. Great use of the fabrics.
