Giraffe

This is paper-pieced and was really hard for me. I think I ripped out ever seam at least once. If I ever make it again, I think I will applique the giraffe on a landscape background. The pattern is Giraffe Abstractions by Violet Craft.

You did a beautiful job, your giraffe is spectacular. I don't do paper piecing, never could get the hang of it. Thank you for sharing.

I love giraffes & that is beautiful. You did a great job. Paper piecing was difficult for me too but worth it.

I'm glad you stuck it out because this is wonderful! I love the close-up of the face and the darker fabric eyes and muzzle.

It turned out well.

It is gorgeous, and well worth the work! But I hear you about the difficulty level, which is why I won't make it.

Tartan 09-25-2017 08:28 PM

I love it!

jmoore 09-26-2017 02:33 AM

Wow, what a lot of paper piecing of little bits of fabric. Congratulations on such a wonderful job!

copycat 09-26-2017 02:37 AM

Your quilt is amazing. All the tiny sections of varied fabrics make the giraffe look spectacular.

coopah 09-26-2017 04:10 AM

Well worth the effort! Just exquisite! Love the greens as the background. They really put the focus on the giraffe. :-)

Chasezzz 09-26-2017 04:21 AM

Love the pattern and your execution of it! Great work.

red-warrior 09-26-2017 04:31 AM

You would never know the problems you had....your piece is lovely!

lindaschipper 09-26-2017 04:48 AM

Yours is beautiful! I've seen the giraffe pattern and the elephant pattern several times and must admit that I love both of them. But this is something I would NEVER attempt. Just not that brave.

Homespun 09-26-2017 04:56 AM

That is a beautiful giraffe!!!

sewnclog 09-26-2017 05:18 AM

Bluelady 09-26-2017 08:51 AM

WOW! all those pieces. Amazing work!! :):)

momsbusy 09-26-2017 08:51 AM

Your quilt is gorgeous! Although the paper piecing was frustrating for you, the resulting quilt would not have been the same with any other method. Your effort shows.

Rosasta0 09-26-2017 10:03 AM

Beautiful quilt. And I can truly commiserate with you over ripping out almost everything. I have the same experience when trying to PP...Seems I can flip it to ensure it will cover the area needed, but then after sewing it doesn't. Hard to wrap MY brain around PP...seems backwards to me

sewbizgirl 09-26-2017 10:05 AM

Just beautiful! Those 'abstraction' patterns intimidate me.

katesnanna 09-26-2017 02:27 PM

Congratulations on your perseverance. You did a spectacular job. Well done.

ccthomas 09-26-2017 06:00 PM
