Last year (yeah, last year!) I decided to start a "Glorified Nine Patch" quilt (aka "Robbing Peter To Pay Paul" ). Well, I didn't get too far before I decided that curved piecing was just not my thing. So the blocks got shoved in a box and placed on a high shelf so I wouldn't have to think about them anymore.

I saw that box yesterday and had an epiphany - why not take the blocks that I had made so far and turn them into a table topper and call it done? So I did. My grandiose ideas of a large quilt in this pattern have shrank down to the table topper you see before you now. Better a tiny done UFO than an unfinished UFO, right?

It measures 30" x 30". Now I just got to find a table to top it with. :D

You might not have like doing them, but you did a great job on them! Very nice indeed.

Good for you to get it done even though it is smaller than intended. I have a couple projects that I could to that to as well.....

Nicely done - with the emphasis on DONE. ;) You're brave for even tackling it. I've admired curved piecing but haven't attempted it.

Well done and very pretty......and what a nice job on the binding! Is it applied by machine on one side and hand sewn on the other?

That's too funny Eddie. I started one Robbing Peter to pay Paul years ago. Still haven't finished mine. I got tons and I mean tons of flannel to make a huge one to cover our king sized bed. Ya ya ya Great idea at the time. Good grief I must be a knuckle head. Don't have a clue where it even went to, probably in our attic.

Eddie your table topper is very pretty and so sharp with your white back ground. Really pretty, wanna tackle my mess I got me into? :?

LeslieSkelly 08-02-2010 04:50 PM
