I bought a kit for this quilt from Bonnie Blue at the Long Beach quilt show a little while back. I've been working on it for a couple of weeks, and just finished the top tonight (but not without having to fix a few blocks I somehow got turned wrong or something!) If you see anything out of place, please let me know before I layer it for hand quilting-- I'm so tired of looking at it I think I really can't see it anymore!

Oh WOW Harmony!!!! I love that!!! Excellent job!!! The colors are great!!! What is the kit called? I really, really love that!!!

Well duh!!! Looked back at the title and there it is!!!

gcathie 09-19-2008 09:58 PM

Harmony that is really pretty....how big is this quilt???

Izy 09-19-2008 10:28 PM

I love the scrappy effect, its very effective, well done :D

Harmony 09-19-2008 10:33 PM

This quilt is about 64x64. If you look at the Bonnie Blue website you'll find the kit. I used Thangles to do all those triangles--they made it SO much easier! I know I want to hand quilt it, but I'm still pondering on exactly what I want to do. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!!

Harmony...for what it is worth...hand quilting would be lost in the busy-ness of the fabric...just my thought....

Thanks for your info on the quilt it is lovely

mary quite contrary 09-20-2008 01:12 AM

Very nice!

CindyBee 09-20-2008 01:50 AM

Outstanding job! I just adore it! I'm going to the website to check it out.

tarib 09-20-2008 02:21 AM

Very Nice, I love the country colors.

Janeen 09-20-2008 03:58 AM

that's fantastic!

but... sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.... have you considered a border all around? Even a 4" border would make it big enough for a double bed throw and would 'frame in' the whole thing....

MOO and don't yell at me...

Wow!!!!!!!!! I really like this quilt. You did an outstanding job.

joannl 09-20-2008 05:11 AM

Love the quilt. Sorry no ideas on the quilting. I would stay away from "in the ditch" quilting - it will get lost in the fabric and hand quilting is so time consuming (and beautiful) that you want it to show. Maybe browse some online quilt stencil catalogs for inspiration.
What type of frame are you using to quilt?
Happy quilting,
Jo

I just love th quilt. Great job.

bj 09-20-2008 06:15 AM

Glorious quilt!!! I love stars!

Knot Sew 09-20-2008 06:21 AM

Outstanding, a border would give you more size unless you want it this size. Hand quilting is always good. I would use an all over simple design. :D

bearpaw 09-20-2008 06:45 AM

Love it, love it, love it!!!! Looks great!

Marcia 09-20-2008 07:17 AM

:D :D :D Beautiful!! You did a great job.
I understand your getting sick of it. that's why I have several projects going at once so I can go to something else when I get tired of one. Keep up the great work!

Harmony it is absolutely gorgeous.

mrsj82 09-21-2008 07:01 AM

That is beautiful! and I agree with ^...a border would frame the whole thing and make it stand out a little...as well as make it big enough for a double bed. Just my two cents worth. If not then it's fine the way it is.

Simply gorgeous!

isewman 09-21-2008 03:28 PM

Love how the sides are done, beautiful work. Just bought some Thangles and am anxious to try them. Can't sew a straight seam  and hope that they will help

Great quilt... it could do with two borders, a narrow one then a wider one.... as for quilting it, stippling always looks nice.... you have done a wonderful job !!!

I agree, handquilting will be lost in this busy pattern.... Consider another type of quilting. Just my thoughts

Kyiav10 09-23-2008 10:20 PM

Oh my goodness. All those half square triangles. I don't think I could do that many.

The quilt is magnificant!!

k9colliedog 09-25-2008 05:29 AM

That is an amazing quilt. I can't find anything wrong with it, but apart from a magnifying glass wouldn'tknow where to start to look
