A good start on Hunters Star
 

Thank you to all who added to the discussion on the Hunters Star. I've admired the pattern for awhile. Through reading everyone's input, I decided to order the Deb Turners ruler from Amazon. I love PP but in this case went with a ruler. I have 20 blocks, 10" and plan on 100. I got to say I'm enjoying these blocks. Love the ruler. My sister made the Jenny Doan pattern. But this pattern is more of a true Hunters Star. I'll post a picture when I get it done.

Very nice to hear the ruler is working for you. I have been considering it, as otherwise, a hunter star quilt would be way too much paper peicing!

I've always liked the Hunter's Star too. I love the colors you are using.

Very nice Hunter's Star-a favorite with most of us, for sure. I really like your color combination and will look forward to seeing your quilt when it is finished.

I love that ruler! I made a wall hanging and have a bed sized quilt on my list.

I did the Hunter's Star the method Jenny Doan used. Only did one block. Then I had been at the lqs yesterday and saw 2 side by side they had on display. The Jenny method and the Deb Tucker ruler method. I ordered the ruler as an early Christmas present to myself.

I'm glad to hear you are using Deb Tucker's ruler as I have them also and want to try them out. Love your colors too. I'm looking into using all greens for a couple I know down in Florida. She said she didn't care what pattern I used just as long as it was green. Guess that means green is her favorite color?????

Now I know!!! There's a local furniture store that advertises on TV and the spokes-lady is wrapped up in a quilt that looks just like this. Now I know what the pattern is. LOL

looks awesome.. i got the Deb Tucker ruler. and i have been accumulating fabric in the Red and Cream tones to make a king size i can not wait to use it.

Very nice! Love your colors. You just helped me decide how to use my LQS 30% off coupon. I've been thinking about doing a Hunter's Star quilt and it sounds like the Deb Tucker ruler is the method to use. Hopefully, they will have one of the rulers next time I go in.

How big is your quilt going to be? I hate doing the math on these and want to make a king size quilt and have no idea how much material I need , any one here on this board able to help.

I used the ruler too and it came out really well.

I made my first one a few years ago using the Accuquilt die. I loved it and plan to make more. Your colors are beautiful.
