I started a double wedding ring quilt between Christmas and New Year's. This is my second one and I don't remember the first one being this much work :D :D

But I have powered through and I am now starting to put the rings together. today I got about 1/4th of the top pieced.. so I wanted to play show and tell. I still have to secure the connecting corners but I am feeling accomplished... only 65 more rings to go ha ha

So here I am playing show and tell thanks for looking

KwiltyKahy 02-08-2018 03:23 AM

this is beautiful. I always look at DWRs but I don't have them on my bucket list. I like looking at yours.

quilterpurpledog 02-08-2018 03:46 AM

The black is great in your quilt. It certainly will give you a unique opportunity for your quilting. So, enjoy finishing your beautiful quilt and show us the finished project. I, for one, will be anxious to see it.

jmoore 02-08-2018 03:53 AM

It looks awesome...I love how your rings really pop against your background fabric.

Sew Freak 02-08-2018 04:02 AM

DWR is one I would luv to do...but I think maybe out of this world for my expertise level!! I am curious however to know if anyone here on QB has made the DWR using E Burns method? I would be interested in those who have. Please share!!!! TY!!

djmat 02-08-2018 04:20 AM

You can do this because so far it is marvelous!!!

Innov8R 02-08-2018 04:33 AM

LGJARN52 02-08-2018 04:57 AM

Wish I were as brave as you are! I'll never have the nerve to do a quilt like yours.

meyert 02-08-2018 05:14 AM

Thank you everyone for your kinds words... they are good for the weary quilter

The background is actually dark blue, but it does look black in this photograph

Sew Freak - I have never seen the Eleanor Burns DWR method. I am using Shar Jorgenson's templates and I really like them. They came with a great little book and she has videos on YouTube that I can watch over and over again until I "get it". I need to watch the videos many many times :)

obie2 02-08-2018 07:14 AM

Super cool. Stay with it.

JanieH 02-08-2018 08:18 AM

You have made a gorgeous quilt. I just love it, and you are very good at this.

TheMerkleFamily 02-08-2018 01:07 PM

Beautiful! If I were you I'd want to 'show & tell' too - lovely quilt you have there!

Linny 02-08-2018 01:18 PM

Your efforts are visible. This is already so lovely.

sJens 02-08-2018 01:58 PM

Very pretty and love the black background.

Jaiade 02-08-2018 02:07 PM

Ha, ha. I have had Shar's templates for at least 20 years. I don't think the package is even open! I always wanted to make the DWR but once my mother gave me one, I just never seem to get to it. I even have the templates for a smaller size and have cut out the version where the arcs are one piece. And that's as far as I've come on it in over 20 years! Boy, what a sad:( testimony about a quilt that I really like. And now, in my senior years, I think I'm intimidated by how it's put together. Oh well, maybe someday.
Yours is very nice, btw.

Jingle 02-08-2018 03:29 PM

Absolutely gorgeous so far.

Curly Joe 02-08-2018 04:49 PM
