quilt back from a local long arm quilter.
I had almost forgotten what it looked like...... I took it to her to quilt on May 23, 2010 !!

Still have to sew binding.

luv-e 02-03-2011 04:33 PM

OH!!! I love this 5

0tis 02-03-2011 04:33 PM

Wow - it looks very nice but did it get lost? I know some LA's take their time but I think I would have given up after 6 months or so - but it is really nice.

annieshane 02-03-2011 04:35 PM

You did a great job...and tons of patience! I would have been chomping around if I had to wait that long!

Didn't get lost....she "didn't know I was ready to have it quilted" :?:

Sapphire_Rae 02-03-2011 04:41 PM

Looks like the quilting was worth the wait anyway! You are very patient. Your quilt is very nice. Not sure exactly why, but it is comforting to me, just from looking at the picture. Perhaps next time give the LAQ a deadline? lol.

clem55 02-03-2011 04:43 PM

OHHHH, that is really pretty! I would love seeing it on my bed!!

charmpacksplus 02-03-2011 04:46 PM

It's beautiful!

I brought two quilts to my LAQ last week and she told me it would be at least two months. I bet that really means three or four months. Both of them are gifts. :-(

pollyjvan9 02-03-2011 04:47 PM

You are truly a patient person. I would have been knocking on her door after about 3 months wanting my quilt back. However, she did a beautiful job quilting your lovely quilt.

Yarn or Fabric 02-03-2011 04:49 PM

Well she sure did a nice job but man that's a reaaalllllyyy long time to wait for something! Did it fall behind a box and she forgot? lol

Tropical 02-03-2011 04:53 PM

Just a question, didn't the fact that you took them to her to be quilted mean that you were ready to have them quilted?

You both did a beautiful job. Did you chose the quilting pattern or is that left up to the quilter?

I guess that was two questions. :)

Tropical 02-03-2011 04:55 PM

I meant it quilted, not them quilted.

sewwhat85 02-03-2011 05:11 PM

beautiful quilt and quilting is beautiful also

rosemaynes 02-03-2011 05:15 PM

WOW it looks great. That is such a shame that the longarmer would take that long. Quilts can be lost and forgotten about in that much time.

makakehau 02-03-2011 05:16 PM

Lovely quilt. You do have a knack!

:D

carolaug 02-03-2011 05:19 PM

Nice quilt...sounds like its time for you to get a long arm. You make really nice quilts.

Lindsey 02-03-2011 05:23 PM

some of the girls around here are way backed up. Usually they don't want the responsibitlity of keeping your quilt that long. they call you IF they know you are ready to have a quilt quilted. They have a Q and you get marked on the calendar. That is IF you have called her to get in the Q. Your quilt looks great and love the pattern chosen for the quilt. It was worth the wait.

nativetexan 02-03-2011 05:29 PM

great quilt! with all the snow you should have time to do the binding. love the colors too!!!

Meryl N 02-03-2011 05:36 PM

your quilt is gorgeous!!! I love the colour combo. I was especially admiring the rust colour, as I have been looking for this particular colour for a while now. Any idea who makes it and where I might get it - I usually buy online. Thanks in advance

pvquilter 02-03-2011 05:39 PM

Very nice

dkabasketlady 02-03-2011 05:40 PM

littlehud 02-03-2011 08:54 PM

That is just beautiful. She did a great job of quilting it. But what a long wait.

sew_southern 02-03-2011 09:01 PM

Long time to wait, but the quilt & quilting is beautiful! :)

fleurdelisquilts.com 02-03-2011 09:08 PM

Oh my! It's really pretty. It must have been horrible to wait like that. Had you called her to ask about the quilt? If so, what did she say?

Ditter43 02-03-2011 09:10 PM

She did a great job but that seems like a long time to wait!! The quilt is beautiful! :D

alaskasunshine 02-03-2011 09:11 PM

Tropical- Well....in all honest, I did say "There's no rush" (I was thinking I'd have in back in 4-8 weeks AT MOST)..... my mistake! She just kept shoving it aside to do others.

She picked the quilt pattern on this one.
I was pleased with how it turned out though and I really do like the pattern she picked.

I had called several times.
She was sick ...they were going on vacation.....there were some charity ones she had to do first....etc etc

I guess I was patient as long as I was because when I took it to her she was running a special and it was a really good price!

Tussymussy 02-04-2011 03:58 AM

Beautifully quilted so I guess it was worth waiting for.

Pitty Pat 02-04-2011 04:11 AM

Meryl,
I not really sure where I bought that (was a while back!) ...... might have been at fabric.com or thousandsofbolts.com

Here's one @fabric.com that I'm thinking of buying

I really lucked out with my LA quilter choice. I sent her (suezquilts) three quilts 1-1/2 weeks ago, and they are already finished and in the mail. She did a terrific job and the price was great too! Just call me "one satisfied customer"..

sidmona 02-04-2011 12:32 PM
