I also finished my top - still not sure if I like it. I guess I was expecting something else since I was so impressed by the previous one, Celtic Solstice. I'll wait until I get it quilted. Sometimes that makes all the difference. Mine will also be gifted to granddaughter.

Beautiful quilt, great work.

How did you ever keep all those diagonals true? I'm still on clue 2 and I've redone so many of them and they still are skewed and the resulting squares are too small. I'm measured everything twice and used every help known to exist. Still not what I want.

Oh! I love it! I think a lot of quilters stepped out of their color comfort zone on this one. With that said, I think these are the best colors for this quilt. I haven't seen any of the "altered" ones that I like better. The "grand illusion" is lost when the pattern and colors are changed.

GOOD FOR YOU! It's wonderful. I wonder how many others on this site finished theirs. Would love to see them also.

I have three rows put together. I need to make more of clue 2 to put together the other 2 rows.

I gave up on her method 3 for clue 2 and went strip method. so much easier. cut the strips pink and black each 2", cut the white a bit smaller, 1 7/8". sew them and then cut 45* angle and 2 1/2" wide. trim to 4 1/2", wal-la done! I tried using 2" strips for the white also and found that I was trimming the points, so it needs to be a bit narrower. I hope this helps grammy17.

Yes you get bias edges, but it was easier and when sewing together, I am not having any problem.
