I have never really cared for the ones I have seen that were machine quilted, but yours has surly changed my mind. You have done such a beautiful job. You are so lucky to have your sisters to work with.

I have used Hobbs 80/20 batting with much success. Not sure that would change the weight however.

I would have loved to quilt it by hand but I don't have patience (and skills) to do it.

I would use a thin wool batting. It lasts such a long time, and is warm, but not heavy.

Oh My Heavens....love everything about the quilt! It must be so fun to have sisters who help you with projects, especially one so work intensive. A beautiful result.

With your skills at the machine, you needn't be concerned about hand quilting! I also like the brown "paths" Mine are all in green, and I'm getting a bit tired of green. :( Had never thought of brown. I need to start thinking outside the traditional. Again, your GFG is so lovely.

That is spectacular, you and your sisters should be extremely proud.
Your mother will LOVE IT
