This quilt has been in the making for one year now and is finally done. This is the first quilt that I have made since my Mom died 17 years ago. Quilting was our thing and I just stopped when she passed. I’m so glad I decided to start again (thank you Donna for all your encouragement). This quilt is an Eleanor Burns pattern and was all hand appliquéd and quilted. It will be a gift to my daughter in time, but first I will need to make a quilt for each of her three brothers. It may be a while before she gets it. :)

Your quilt is simply STUNNING!! As a hand quilter and hand applique'er (like that word?), I appreciate every stitch that went into that quilt!! Your daughter will be one very lucky lady-You were meant to quilt-and I am sure your Mother is smiling down on you and glad to started again!

Absolutely Beautiful and I am sure your mother thinks so too.

Your quilt is gorgeous! The colors of your flowers just pop against the white. So glad you took up quilting again. I'm sure your daughter will treasure the quilt when she finally receives it.

I understand your reluctance to quilt after your mom's death. Thank goodness my mom encouraged me so much while she could. When she died last November, I felt that I needed to continue for her and it was great therapy. Your quilt is absolutely stunning. I'm happy that you have come back to it. It would be a shame to waste your beautiful talent.

That is soooo beautiful! It reminds me of my grandmother for some reason, though I don't remember her having a quilt like it. Your daughter will treasure it!

Beautiful quilt and quilting. Really like Eleanor Burns patterns. So glad you are able to quilt again. It is so hard losing a mom.

I'm sure this was very bittersweet but healing for you, and in the end it is an absolutely beautiful quilt that your daughter will be thrilled to recieve! I think it is awesome!
