Deep down I think this is the one that got it all started. Like I don't have enough iron's in the fire.
Goldie Blanch Burns made this quilt as she lay in bed recovering from a Copperhead Snake bite on her foot. |
Beautiful, such precise piecing
|
Beautiful, especially when you consider how it was made. Looks like it been much loved and much used. I hope you treasure it.
|
Very pretty. What a treasure.

I found something similar to this when my father in law passed away in 2001. We were going through some of his things and I found a trunk that had old quilts in it and in the bottom was a quilt top. Such a great find to work on and finish for my husband.

That is very special!
|
What a treasure. It looks great. That is a lot of work for hand piecing.

Beautiful. Just like all women of that era, you may be down, but you're not out and you are always productive.

I love the lone star quilt design. I have never seen one made entirely of one color, but I must say I do love it. Thanks for sharing with us.

|
by cherishing your grandmother's quilt and retelling its story, you may be surprised by how much love of their past you have instilled into your kids. And it my not be anything that you wil see soon. There comes a time in life when what happened years ago and what they had to do things with will be of interest to the next generation.
You may have spurred on the next best quilt historian. Beautiful Quilt!:) |
