Maybe granke's will transform like that also.. It will be interesting to see how it progresses. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-87711-1.htm

Yes, they were in some of the blocks I didn't use    And I'm sure granky's will turn out great. Can't wait to see it.

jojosnana 01-06-2011 02:18 PM

I just think it is so amazing how the fabric turns into all those wonderful blocks....nice job.

stitchinwitch 01-07-2011 04:30 AM

Isn't it amazing that fabric pretty hideous can turn into such BEAUTIFUL OBW's??? That could be a challenge for ALL of us - check out stash and try to use it wisely (instead of just allowing it to sit on our shelves)
GOOD JOB!

ddddd 01-07-2011 04:57 AM

lovely!

quilt3311 01-07-2011 05:20 AM

Wow that turned out so neat! When the fabric first came on the screen, I though stack n whack or pinwheels or something else that would spin.

abdconsultant 01-07-2011 05:22 AM

Love the contrast, great work.

Nanjun 01-07-2011 05:53 AM

These blocks are super! Is there a pattern for stack and whack?

sandpat 01-07-2011 06:18 AM

Great job! I like what you did with it, it just proves, there is a home for every fabric...

Connie Merritt 01-07-2011 06:27 AM

THat is beautiful, especially with the black.

buckeyed 01-07-2011 06:30 AM

Thought you said it was "ugly" fabric...sure looks beautiful now!

Prissnboot 01-07-2011 06:39 AM

Beautiful job, but I thought the original fabric was kind of cute too. For me it would have been fussy-cut city!

bjchad 01-07-2011 06:41 AM

Wow! What a transformation. Fabulous!

quiltlin 01-07-2011 07:48 AM

I love the before fabric and think your blocks turned out terrific. And looking at the before fabric you'd think there would be more color but it's really funny how these blocks turn out.

Carol Carter 01-07-2011 07:51 AM

I've got to try one of these. Are they difficult?

mimee4 01-07-2011 08:35 AM

Absolutely a changed fabric. The blocks are stunning.

cyniree 01-07-2011 10:02 AM

that is neat.

KathyKat 01-07-2011 10:19 AM

Wow! Very pretty and what a transformation.

sgardner 01-07-2011 10:21 AM

Wow- blown away by the transformation. It's like magic!

OKLAHOMA PEACH 01-07-2011 10:42 AM

Beautiful!

grannypat7925 01-07-2011 11:25 AM

Great! Another one on my to-do list!

Rock Lady 01-07-2011 11:42 AM

I think the quilt is beautiful. It really doesn't matter what anyone thinks about the "before" fabric, the end result was absolutely gorgeous.

Hi Nanjun, I got the patterns from a book - Magic Stack 'n' Whack Quilts by Bethany S. Reynolds :-D

Thankyou everyone for your wonderful comments, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

Harmony 01-07-2011 05:20 PM

Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear! That's remarkable! Maybe there isn't any truly ugly fabric that can't be made beautiful somehow!

BettyGee 01-07-2011 05:21 PM

Beautiful transformation! Can't say I like the original, but what you did with it is gorgeous.

Cheshirecatquilter 01-07-2011 06:20 PM

You really placed the fussy cutting to take the best advantage of the print. The more I see of these the more I want to make one -- have to keep my eye out for some outrageous fabric.

Tweety2911 01-07-2011 06:27 PM

Beautiful!

Leota 01-07-2011 06:28 PM

Really pretty AFTER your magic....

Becca Bear 01-07-2011 06:46 PM

ilovetosew 01-07-2011 07:18 PM
