beautiful, thanks for sharing with all of us

what pattern are you using the one block wonder?

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 01-05-2011 06:19 PM

Isn't it amazing how stack n whack and OBW completely transforms some of the most challenging fabrics into great quilts?! Great job. Can't help you with the quilting though.

Quiltforme 01-05-2011 06:19 PM

Wow I just love how you take the ugly and make it BEAUTIFUL! The ladies that do these make me drool!! Great job!

erstan947 01-05-2011 06:21 PM

The finished quilt sure is not ugly. Beautiful!!!:)

cctx. 01-05-2011 06:24 PM

Do you mind if I ask, but where can I find your fabric print? I had a small piece of red background in this print from another group swap and can never find your fabric print. The cute girls in the background are really sweet. This would be perfect for my granddaughter. Thanks and your work is awesome too!

amma 01-05-2011 06:24 PM

Beautiful! What an awesome S&W :D:D:D

cjomomma 01-05-2011 06:31 PM

I have to admit I'm not sure what to think of that fabric. It's cute but then again it's ugly. I'm confused! Anyway I do like what you did with it. Some of them look like snow flakes.

littlehud 01-05-2011 06:32 PM

That turned out beautiful. What a transformation.

LAB55 01-05-2011 06:35 PM

Beautiful quilt !! Cute fabric !

Up North 01-05-2011 06:36 PM

I would love to have fussy cut the cute little girls from the original fabric but I am not sure they go with Hawaiian cocktails! Cute outcome by the way!!

Hi cctx, I bought the fabric from ebay some time ago. It came in a pack with other fabrics and I only had 1yrd of it. Sorry I can't be more help, it would be nice for a little girl :-)

hperttula123 01-05-2011 06:46 PM

I like that fabric - not ugly, it was sassy! Now, I have some very ugly fabric around here - Stack and Whack is in my future!

cctx. 01-05-2011 10:05 PM

Thanks for the response on the fabric, it's not ugly, it's really cute fabric.

Bzaney 01-06-2011 04:44 AM

Someone mentioned on another thread that there was a tutorial for how to do this type of quilt block. I looked through all nine pages of topics and couldn't find it - does anyone know what the tutorial is called?

Thanks,

Jackie

purple_butterfly 01-06-2011 05:19 AM

Jackie - I think they were probably talking about the One Block Wonder tute 'tip toe through the hexagons'. If you click on search at the top of the page and type in whatever you're interested in, either OBW or stack 'n' whack you'll find all the threads relating to that subject and they will say beside them if they are tutorials. :-)

paintedquilt 01-06-2011 05:23 AM

Wow :-P

You can also go here to the topic list for this subject and find all the threads in one place. :-D http://www.quiltingboard.com/virtual...jsp?vsnum=1006

Rntraveler 01-06-2011 05:41 AM

Love that fabric....

dsb38327 01-06-2011 05:50 AM

Love what you did with the fabric. The pattern is magic. It is amazing that the little girls disappeared. Or were they in some of the blocks you didn't use?
Maybe granke's will transform like that also.. It will be interesting to see how it progresses. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-87711-1.htm

MomtoBostonTerriers 01-06-2011 05:52 AM

purple butterfly,

You are really made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. This is a wonderful transformation. (Only Helen Keller would like that original fabric.)

4girlsmimi 01-06-2011 05:56 AM

Very nice. Love to see the transformation of fabric to a quilt like this.

MeMeX8 01-06-2011 10:02 AM

I would never guessed that it was from that same piece of fabric! Amazing! Great job!

azdesertrat 01-06-2011 10:04 AM

that is so cool!

Mariposa 01-06-2011 10:16 AM

Great quilt, and cute fabric!

Ditter43 01-06-2011 10:18 AM

That is really neat! I love the way you put the small strips of print partially around the blocks! It really pops! Great job!! :D
