Okay, I need your opinion please. I made this Dresden Plate and not sure which color the center should be. My husband likes the green, I lean more to the brown.

I like the brown. It is more dramatic.

katvert 02-16-2011 11:23 PM

brown makes the colors pop more.

PurplePassion 02-16-2011 11:24 PM

Well, can you use both? is it for a quilt or just a couple of blocks?

Jim 02-16-2011 11:29 PM

I like both...maybe alternate the brown and green????

bjchad 02-17-2011 12:01 AM

I like the brown. It does make the other colors pop

dhanke 02-17-2011 12:05 AM

I like the brown too, but if there are going to be multiple blocks I'd mix it up and use them both.

scowlkat 02-17-2011 12:25 AM

I agree with mixing them up and using both but if not, go with the brown!

glenda5253 02-17-2011 12:43 AM

I vote for the brown. More pop.

Kitsapquilter 02-17-2011 12:47 AM

I am having a hard time deciding. The green kind of softens the whole thing a bit more. But the brown really looks good. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
Flip a coin if in doubt.

blue10moon9 02-17-2011 03:09 AM

I like the idea of using both colors.

Laura3 02-17-2011 03:18 AM

Brown for me too...The colors are amazing!

Tiki 02-17-2011 03:39 AM

Both are nice, but I personally like the green better, since I see all the lovely patterns and colors. With the brown, it definitely "Pops", but then that is all I see, the other nice fabrics disappear.

i like the green. when i look at the brown all i see is the brown strips

dakotamaid 02-17-2011 04:08 AM

I do like the brown the best. I saw one once that used a layered center, one color larger than the other, was really pretty.

mollymct 02-17-2011 04:19 AM

I like the brown, but dakotamaid's idea sounds interesting!!

Mamagus 02-17-2011 04:20 AM

Green

gal288 02-17-2011 04:29 AM

Both, have you thought of trying yellow. Which is the compliment, just curious how it would look..

boopisit 02-17-2011 04:30 AM

why don't you alternate...i like them both.

DebsShelties 02-17-2011 04:33 AM

I like the brown

CompulsiveQuilter 02-17-2011 04:34 AM

I like the green - it makes the plate look scrappier

Monstookie 02-17-2011 04:35 AM

I like the brown. Beautiful dresden plate.

Tropical 02-17-2011 04:36 AM

I like the green best.

sewcrafty 02-17-2011 04:36 AM

I think the green is softer (more traditional) and the brown is more modern. Have you thought about the look you want? I personally like the green.

dmyers 02-17-2011 04:42 AM

i like the brown, but if you can use both colors i like them both.

I like the brown.....but the idea of layering also sounds nice

dashton4 02-17-2011 05:02 AM

I would use both colors and make it scrappy. Maybe even throw in some blue ones.

Julie in NM 02-17-2011 05:02 AM

brown..looks like chocolate

Tiki

I can see what she is saying, when I first looked my first impression was brown, after going back I noticed the other colors more with green. So you can go with whichever you feel more comfortable with, or mix them up.

Matilda 02-17-2011 05:06 AM

I think alternating them would be pretty!

Connie in CO 02-17-2011 05:10 AM

Make a 4 patch,2 browns and 2 greens make a circle.

suezquilts 02-17-2011 05:11 AM

Green!

quiltsRfun 02-17-2011 05:14 AM

When I saw the first picture I said to myself, "the green." Then I scrolled down and said, "no, the brown." I agree with katvert, it makes the colors pop.

quilttiludrop 02-17-2011 05:16 AM

Tough call! I personally like the slightly softer look of the green.

piepatch 02-17-2011 05:21 AM

I like the green, but I like green anything :)

I like the green,,,the brown wedges are so prdominant that using the brown makes them overshadow the other colors.

sueisallaboutquilts 02-17-2011 05:32 AM

Whatever you use, they are beautiful!!! I like both :)

How about the brown and put a smaller green circle in the middle of it?
