Gypsy Wife - Sect 2

It's going quite fast!! Of course I can do it all day long if I wish (retired) and paper piecing (if you're used to it!) means you don't have to worry about seam allowances, etc. Oh, they are there! But if you sew where the seam is supposed to be instead of measuring from the cut edge it doesn't matter if the SA is slightly narrower or wider. Your actual piece will be correct. I'm just showing the special blocks without the strips of off white colors that I will be using.
Thanks for looking! |

Great to see your progress on this! Nice blocks!

Love looking at your progress.

They look good.

Thanks so much for sharing this journey with us. I am loving seeing the blocks as you make them. This might make me want to take on this awesome quilt.

so nice, are you making the patterns yourself. I love paper piecing and would love to make my own patterns
|
I love this pattern. I find that I'm torn, though, between wanting to do it her way and making up my own. I love putting orphans and leftovers together to make them work; I'm thinking it might be fun to make up my own pattern with them. Perhaps I should follow her pattern for the first time, then branch out. So many quilts--so little time! :)

Yes, Grace I am drawing the pattern using graph paper, transferring it onto freezer paper and doing the Twiddle tails method to sew!
I tried the .pdf given for the Pershing block but it was too small by 1/2", so I draw up my own. :o http://www.twiddletails.com/images/FPFtute/FPFTute.pdf |
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
