I started hand quilting this whole cloth quilt on Nov. 22, 2010. Yesterday I reached the middle of the center medallion, so that means I am HALF-WAY done! :)

The quilt top was purchased pre-printed, but I added extra pencil markings to it to make it bigger on the sides and added more quilting lines in the main body of it. Once washed, the blue lines will disappear.

WOW, what a beauty, well worth the (huge) effort! Way to go, we want to see it finished, pretty please :)

dakotamaid 03-16-2011 07:37 AM

YaY! Be sure and post when it is finished. I have done some pillow tops in this method. Really helps me to see where I can improve my stitch. I applaud anyone willing to tackle a large quilt. :):)

I found it at a quilt store in GA when we were there visiting last year.

This one is Queen Anne Star by Penn Prints, Inc.

If you do a search for "Penn Prints pre-printed wholecloth quilt tops" you will get results where you can buy one.

Just the top and binding runs about $55. If you get a kit with the backing it is around $100+.

Some days I get to quilt for a few hours on it, (if it's my day off of work). Other days I only get 30 min. or so to work on it before work...
And, unfortunately, some days, I don't get to work on it at all. :(

quiltsRfun 03-16-2011 09:23 AM

I'd say you've made pretty good progress getting half way through since November. Gonna be a gorgeous quilt.
