Happy Birds, by Jen Kingwell
 

I just finished this today and hoping to quilt this weekend. Kingwell patterns are so fun to do and there are lots of different techniques used in this quilt. All applique is turned edge and machine sewn. I used a FQ bundle and background fabric featuring birds and blenders from my stash to complete this. I'll finish this off with buttons for the bird eyes. Since I made this in the duration of my sisters illness as a stress reliever, which I cried thru most of it, I decided to gift this to her. Cheerful....and she collects bird houses so also appropriate. I took some close ups for you of the fabric cuz it's so pretty... Backing will be gray and binding will be multi...

Wowsers! Great quilt and I love the fabrics you chose as well. So many fun and wonderful little details to take in like the fussy cut hexies and blocks. Your sister will love it for sure. Up until now I was "take it or leave it" with Jen Kingwell patterns but this one sure does change my mind. I love the applique in the center. Heck I love everything about this quilt. I hope you post a pic of it once it is all quilted.
