This is for my daughters 30th Birthday. Her birthday was in May but she is not coming to visit until the end of this month so I had a little extra time to make it and thank goodness as the project has just grown!! (must be all the rain we have had! lol) Now I just have to summon up the courage to quilt it! I plan to echo all the flowers and to do cross hatching in the butterfly borders. Still not sure what I am going to do in the plain cornerstones (they are there because I cut the butterfly borders too short! )
thank you for looking

Love, love, love the daisy quilts. Yours is beautiful. The butterflies are a nice addition. Hope to see a garden full of daisies this summer. Good job.

That is so pretty! I love the flowers too!

allie1448 06-04-2011 11:29 AM

Thank you all ! There are 30 daisies and 30 butterflies. One of the quilt board members sent me a jpeg pattern and I sort of went from there but had to resize and redraw petals and leaves to suit my size of block. I made several changes from other happy daisy quilts I have seen on the board and in my LQS. The stems I made by making the fabric into bias binding so they have a little more definition. I also wanted grass in my daisy garden so bordered all of the blocks . The butterflies are embroidered appliques
Thank you so much for such kind comments

That came out really nice. I like your borders. So cute. I really need to finish mine.. Great job.

All coloured fabrics are batiks (except for the green leaves and borders) as they are my first love for quilting! lol

redquilter 06-04-2011 11:40 AM

QuiltnCowgirl 06-04-2011 11:42 AM

Lovely design! So bright & cheery. Love the mirrored image design of the flowers. Maybe you can quilt "echo" flowers in the cornerstones?

CarolinePaj 06-04-2011 11:43 AM

So pretty! I have that pattern....now I need to move it closer to the top of my to-do list. I really like the addition of your embroidered butterflies too. I am hoping withing the next week to purchase an embroidery machine, which is now on sale. So many ideas.....so little time. <sigh>

I have this pattern also and I have wanted to make it for ages. My pattern does not have the butterfly borders. Yours is beautiful and the butterfly border is awesome. Maybe you could quilt a butterfly ot two in those corner blocks. Beautiful work.

mtspools 06-04-2011 01:22 PM

That is so pretty. Can I be your daughter ? :D :D

wolph33 06-04-2011 01:26 PM

that is stunning, super job on this one

leakus 06-04-2011 01:28 PM

I love this pattern. I don't have it but I'll eventually make it.
I think you have made a terrific job. Yours is the best I've seen in the QB. I think that the whites on every block is what makes it outstanding and your fabric choice. The greens are perfect too.
Looking forward to see more of your work.

quiltlady 06-04-2011 01:29 PM

Looks wonderful, great colors. I've looked and looked for this pattern. Can't find it. What is it called? Anyone able to share?

stichinluvr 06-04-2011 01:31 PM

Lovely. You could quilt a butterfly or ladybug in the cornerstones.

twixbar 06-04-2011 01:33 PM
