Thanks for sharing and the info about how you did it.
It's a masterpiece...

Kathy: I made this quilt with your help and sent it to the cancer foundation in memory of our son who passed away with pancreatic cancer. They appreciated it very much and plan on auction it off as a fund raiser. Thanks again Kathy for all your assistance. I enjoyed making it and I too thought it was beautiful when I got it done. It is bright and happy and beautiful. You did a wonderful job. You say you are not creative, but your are! You are creative enough to make your own pattern just by seeing a photo.

bubble951 01-19-2012 06:15 PM

Beautiful. I now have another project in mind!

Yes, it is a happy quilt. The pattern is long out of copyright, BTW. It has been on my WAD list for a while now.

I loved this quilt the minute I saw it on Pinterest. I made it with a twist. Changed the white to black. It turned out pretty well.

I love the Happy Daisies quilt and was wondering if you can tell me where I could get that pattern?

cuppi duke 01-20-2013 06:22 PM

I love your quilt. It does make a person feel happy, especially with all the cold weather this winter.

Anne53 03-03-2013 05:15 PM

can you help me.

My daughter is in love with this quilt. Could you give me more details I how you made the daisies. Is fusible web used? is the technique used positive negative applique? Any help you could give me would be most appreciated.
Thank you Anne

I asked the person that posted the picture about the pattern. She said it was a customer's quilt and would ask about it. When she questioned the piecer she was told the piecer was not the designer and didn't know where it came from. No one seemed to know.

I copied it and named it 'Happy Daisies'. I played around with paper until I got the size petals and stems that I wanted. Then I made a template. The blocks are 13" square and then cut in half and sewed together, then squared to 12 1/2". I copy lots of things I see, unless it specifically says don't copy it. If that's not okay, then I'm a dead duck. I do not have a creative mind. Even though I don't know where it came from originally, I do remember my mom making a daisy quilt about 50 years ago. She didn't use the positive/negative color scheme, just the daisy petals. That's probably why I like this quilt so much, it reminds me of her.

Hello Kathy

Hello Kathy,
I am a quilt instructor seeking permission to use the photo of your Happy Daisy quilt to promote a class that I will be teaching of this pattern. I have developed a pattern for this quilt and have named it "Danceing Daisy's" I would only use your photo until I can make my own quilt sample.
Thank you

I remember seeing a quilt like this posted here a while ago. I thought it was so pretty. You did a wonderful job and your colors are bright & cheerful. Did you machine or hand applique?

fred singer 04-09-2013 02:56 PM
