Thank you so much for sending the template for your Happy Daisies so quickly! You made such a beautiful quilt and it is evident by the number replies to your original post. You should be proud.

cindyg 08-12-2010 08:56 AM

Too cute

sew_lulu 08-12-2010 09:14 AM

Pretty!

jdavis 08-14-2010 11:03 AM

That's so cute!
It looks like it could have been clip art, or a company logo.
What a great job you did on it!

pennyswings 08-14-2010 03:51 PM

Pretty. You did a lovely job, I love the colors you used.

JACRN 08-24-2010 09:13 PM

When she questioned the piecer she was told the piecer was not the designer and didn't know where it came from. No one seemed to know.

I copied it and named it 'Happy Daisies'. I played around with paper until I got the size petals and stems that I wanted. Then I made a template. The blocks are 13" square and then cut in half and sewed together, then squared to 12 1/2". I copy lots of things I see, unless it specifically says don't copy it. If that's not okay, then I'm a dead duck. I do not have a creative mind. Even though I don't know where it came from originally, I do remember my mom making a daisy quilt about 50 years ago. She didn't use the positive/negative color scheme, just the daisy petals. That's probably why I like this quilt so much, it reminds me of her.

Thanks so much. I really like it. That info came so quickly I was a bit surprised. Have a Jelly Roll nearly finished but can't wait to start this one. Nothing special for tomorrow so I can at least get fabric lined up. Have been itching to find the right quilt for some new fabric I bought last week.

DoxieMom 09-08-2010 12:38 PM

The quilt is beautiful! I love the positive-negative effect in each block and the fact that there's a companion block in reverse. It could be interesting to try this with other block designs also. My creative wheels are now officially turning... Thank you for sharing this!

GrannytoJJA 09-18-2010 08:33 PM

Oh how cute! Thank you Will keep this one in mind.

So beautiful! I love all the colors.

Kathyaire--------------Made the Happy Daisies for MY bed. It is gorgeous. Have had so many compliments and is so happy with it. It really brightens up the bedroom. I love bright colors and I made this VERY bright. No 2 blocks alike. Had some orphan blocks leftover and used them for a table runner for Club exchange. All say that they want all of mine to be handmade. Hope they're not trying to be kind. I hate 2-faced people. Thanks again for the idea and pattern.

Take a breath. Its that time of the season for TOO TOO TOO much to do and think about. No wonder you are "stuck in space". Have a glass of wine, a day (or evening) just for YOU. Chocolate (I heard) is one good Rx.

PurpleBecca 11-21-2010 02:27 PM

I feel that there will be ANOTHER copy of that quilt in the near future - I lOVE it - thanks for sharing!

JUNEC 11-21-2010 04:28 PM

How can I get this pattern from you? My Granddaughter would love it!!

Geta 01-17-2011 12:40 PM

Your colorful quilt looks wonderful, the pattern is great. I saw it made in black and white fabric with a touch of yellow.

Lornalee 01-17-2011 03:22 PM

Hi Kathy,
I'm sure you have sent out multiple copies of your templates, but if it would not be too much to ask you to do it again, I would love to have a copy. The quilt is so fresh looking along with being truly beautiful. Thank you for considering this.

Happy Tails 01-25-2011 05:24 AM

For those of you who have made tthis quilt, this is probaby a dumb question but once you have everything cut out and ironed in place, what method of stitching everything down do you use?? I'm not too experienced with hand applique but if that's what I have to do, I will. When finished, will post pictures. I love the pattern and thanks so much for sharing the pattern with us :)

Happy Tails---I used the machine and satin stitched my daisies. I have done hand applique, but I enjoy doing it this way. Always think the next one I will change, but enjoy it too much. I make a lot of quilts with applique. Have fun!!! Marge
