So, I am a compulsive non-finisher. I get so excited about new patterns I come across that I am constantly starting new projects before finishing the last.
I have pledged to myself to finish this quilt BEFORE I can work on anything else! I thought if I shared this pledge with others, I would help keep me going on it. Off to a pretty good start I think...

alikat110 07-28-2011 02:33 PM

Beautiful.

jljack 07-28-2011 02:33 PM

I like it a lot!! And that happens to me all the time!! Keep at it. You can retrain yourself to be a Finisher instead of a Skipper!! LOL

mhunt1717 07-28-2011 02:33 PM

Great start! Very nice--love your fabric choices!

loves_2_quilt 07-28-2011 02:34 PM

It's beautiful. I hope you show us the finished product. Stick with it!

crafty_linda_b 07-28-2011 02:36 PM

Well Laura..just take off that one block on the left side...finish it up and make it a table topper or wallhanging!! ~Viola~ you will be done in no time!! All quilts don't have to be large ones. Looks good so far..love the colors. crafty_linda_b

I like the looks of your project; please finish so we can the wonderful outcome. Waiting...I am always starting new projects before I finish one, but I immediately go back to my unfinished project because I am so excited to see the outcoming. Knowing that I have another project waiting to be finished makes me want to finish the first one so I can move on to something else.

bamamama 07-28-2011 02:38 PM

I hope you do finish that one. I love it!

MimiLinda 07-28-2011 02:40 PM

Off to a GREAT start, I would say. Let's see it finished. I also have several things started for the exact same reason.

RkayD 07-28-2011 02:41 PM

WoW thats really pretty! Can't wait to see what you do with it next. And I feel your pain..I get a bunch piled up and then won't let myself sew until I play catch up..

I am really liking what I see so far. This pattern will really make a great scrappy quilt. Would you share the name of the block or pattern?

noahscats7 07-28-2011 02:51 PM

Your layout has 2 reds together in the center.

LauraEllen,
I cannot think of you not finishing that beautiful WIP! I will help you and commit myself to work on several quilts I have going on.
First let's stablish a feasible goal... How much time do you quilt per week and how long does it take you to piece one block? With that tell me what is your goal. I tell you that my goal is two blocks per week: one AOTH and one BOM Houses, both Projects with the fantastic people of this forum
Let's do it!

Cyn 07-28-2011 03:56 PM

love it :)

Robin57 07-28-2011 03:58 PM

You picked out nice colors. Take a pic when it is finished so we can see :)

cuppi duke 07-28-2011 04:03 PM

I do the same thing. Maybe it is an Idaho quilters thing. I like your quilt.

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 07-28-2011 04:29 PM

That is really pretty. I love the the colors. I am with you though...I start so many quilts before I finish any of them. One of these days I will make a pledge to myself like you... lol

Ann L 07-28-2011 04:31 PM

I really like it. you could make a table runner and then you would be done. It will be nice when you have it all done, the colors are really warm and comforting.

I love this quilt.
Where is the pattern-- in a book?
I would like to make it, too.

I really like the pattern and your colors. I can't wait to see your finished project. I hope that you'll post it.

ilovetosew 07-28-2011 05:13 PM

It's going to be great! I like the butterscotch colour.

Phannie1 07-28-2011 05:15 PM

Just know that there is alot of us out here that would like to see a picture of this quilt finished. There does that help? Now you have to finish that quilt. P.S. That is how you get UFOs and I am sure you are not the first.... And I won't be the last. Ha ha. Join the party!

butterflies5518 07-28-2011 05:21 PM

Like the beginning, can't wait for the finish!

AUQuilter 07-28-2011 05:25 PM

Very nice! I really like that pattern. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

patski 07-28-2011 05:41 PM

its beautiful , love that caramel color

ube quilting 07-28-2011 05:44 PM

This is going to be fabulous! Keep up the good work.

I think alot of us here on the board have made this pledge and it feels great to finish all those UFOs.

I promised myself to dedicate at least one hour a day to be my time to use any way I want. I choose to quilt and I get alot done. Midnight sewing is the greatest!
peace

earthwalker 07-28-2011 06:21 PM

It's going to be a beauty...don't stop now...just do a bit everyday and you will be done. Then we get to look at more pics (please!).:) Look forward to seeing how you go.

#1piecemaker 07-28-2011 06:25 PM

ooooooooooooooohhhh!!! I like that. I love your colors too. Keep going! ! So what if you have several different projects. That's the way I work. I work on one a while and then go to another. Then I'll come back to the first one. Breaks the monotony!

sueisallaboutquilts 07-28-2011 06:43 PM

Hi Lauraellen, I love that pattern!! Just printed it. I have to make it :D:D
Okay with that said- I will have one more partly done quilt!! LOL I have many in the works- what's one more??? hahaha

You're doing a beautiful job!!!!!!!
