I have been working on this today and just cannot decide which color is best for the left side background. What do you think?
Thanks, Tan Background Lavendar Background Blue Background |
Either one will look nice, but I think I prefer the blue. It is hard to decide when both choices look good.
I just noticed the lavendar one, but still prefer the blue. |
Would you consider doing 2/3rds one fabric and 1/3rd the other fabric. It would add another design interest.
I like the blue best. It seems to go well with your right background and the circle fabric. Love to see the finished quilt!
This is turning out to be fabulous! I saw your post when you got the fabric and I like it very much. I wouldn't have thought it but the darker fabric (the lavender) is really jumping out at me, but I like the blue also.

I like the blue best
I think I like the Lavendar the best. It makes it really pop.
I like the tan :)
I also remember you just bought the fabric!! :D:D |
Actually I like the blue as well. Just took another look
debcavan, was just thinking of doing what you suggest, maybe I will take another picture! Thanks
Did you bind each circle?
The darker lavendar color does make the circles pop. You cannot go wrong with any of the colors.
Let us know what you decide. |
i vote for blue

Eenny, meany, minie, mo....I like the blue
I like the blue.

Sitting here looking at this quilt and am thinking maybe using all three fabrics as a vertical stripe behind the circles. How about that? Also someone asked if I bound each circle. It isn't binding. I sewed each circle to a piece of lightweight cotton I had slit it open and turned it right side out. Then using the applique stitch on my machine sewed the bird fabric to the background circle. Will applique each circle to the background, if I ever decide what to do.

I vote for lavender.
I really like the blue! It just pulls it all together.
All 3 are nice selections, I like the bottom color, I think it does the most for the circles. (but what do I know?)
I like the lavendar best, but that is just me.
Yes-definitely the blue. . .
To me the blue looks wishy-washy. I like the lavender.
I am agreeing with these smart ladies - Blue or even tan, but not lavender.
I like the tan.
I like the tan. Will be beautiful.
I like the lavendar one the best.
Okay, I have looked and looked. Can I suggest another choice? How about a medium tone green just a bit darker than the green in the background on the right. Or perhaps a deeper blue. I'm sorry to be so out of step with the rest of the world.

I like the tan. Second choice would be the blue.
Blue for me;)
I think the blue is too pale. How about a more vibrant blue? Something between the blue and purple that you have.
It will be beautiful, whatever you decide to do. |
All three look good, but I prefer the lavendar.
I vote for "blue"! It's so calming. the birds are so peaceful so they compliment each other.
I like the lavender
I like the blue but maybe a darker blue would be better. Your circles are lovely!
I like the blue one best.
I have to agree with some of those who commented on using a more vibrant blue.
Tan - But how about a green or burgandy?
i like the blue or the biege - they dont take away from the patern and colours you have in the circles.
