No suggestion, but that will be a very pretty quilt.

Love those fabrics. I'd have been in trouble had I been with you! You have lots of pattern suggestions. The only thing I'd add is that it seems that the modern quilts I've been looking at lately have lots of white in the background and bright, really loud color in the blocks. Of course, I may have been limiting myself somewhat or focusing on what I thought I saw. I can't imagine that she would not like your selection or the quilt. The fabrics are so pretty and coordinated (and in her favorite colors) that they'd look great in any pattern! Good luck!

That's pretty! But looks kind of difficult. Are these appliquéd? How did you do them?

I got this pattern and started one. It is very easy to do the applique.

This week or last I saw a pattern for a "Picnic Quilt Fit for a Princess" on Sewmamasew.com. It would look wonderful in your fabrics, and I think it looks much more complicated than the directions (there is a tutorial at the site I mentioned) indicate. Good luck - and please share what you decide on!

I went to their site and found only "Sovereign Picnic Quilt". Couldn't find the other anywhere there...but sure did see lots of patterns to possibly use in the future. What a great site...thanks for sharing! Addendum: Finally googled it...and it showed up on their site! Don't know what the difference was...but at least I found it. Thanks! It's pretty!

To show off the materials, I suggest TUMBLER!
And if you have an accuquilt it is SUPER fast to cut AND the corners match up so sewing is ez peazy!

If I did this one I was wondering if I couldn't do the center box like in purple. Then the boxes around it in green. Then the boxes around that it purple...you get the idea. Just trying to brainstorm all the possibilities! This is the part that takes so long! lol![/quote]

I think your idea would work but I would suggest to draw it out and color it in first so you don't loose track.
