Another great pattern...like this a lot!! I have more than enough to choose from...almost too many. It's going to be hard. BUT...the good news is that I now have a whole bunch of patterns that I've got to try...looks like I have a lot of quilts in my future! ;-)

I have a yard of each and a yard and a half of the striped purple. That should be plenty for most patterns I would think. I'm planning to make this lap sized.

That is enough to have enough fabric to make a whole bed quilt - after you have made a lap quilt!
Think something like a bunch of each a different color ohio star blocks scattered on the same or several alternating backgrounds?
"Modern" is more how you use a pattern, than how long a pattern has been around!

Any pattern by Weeks Ringle (a woman). One of her books is "Quilts Made Modern" Their website is funquilts dot com.

LOL! I'm new enough to quilting that I have no idea how much to buy when I don't have a pattern. I figured though that whatever I have left over I can use for a pieced back...or another quilt. We'll see when I'm done. Thanks for the idea of the Ohio star! I'm grateful for all the ideas I've gotten! Trying to decide now is the tough part!

I looked at the site just yesterday...really nice quilts!! And what I can see in the books is really creative. More to think about!

She showed me awhile back that she likes the "Thinking Outside the Box pattern". Would these fabrics really work with that though? If she likes a more "modern" pattern and these fabrics won't really work with the TOTB...what other design options would you recommend for consideration?

Any ideas are truly welcomed and appreciated. BTW, she's pretty easy to please so if you can think of ANY pattern that would look nice in these fabrics please don't hesitate to let me know.

Thanks so much! Karen

I can see this done in The Turning Twenty pattern, or even the Yellow brick Road....
