you can buy the spool attachment for larger spools. It attaches to the back of the machine so now it will look like a 6600 Just ask your dealer for it it is called spool stand by Janome for the 7700

i bought the attachment for larger spools at my lqs where i purchased my 7700. it cost 33.00 and well worth the price. and, it is easy to put on and take off so i can take my machine to a class.

I bought a cone thread adapter to put over my spindle several years ago at Paducah. It helps when using a big cone. The adapter fits inside the cone. But you'll have to hold it down when filling bobbins as they go so fast.

Jo Ann Fabrics has a cone stand for these spools of thread that stands on the table behind your machine on their "Notions Wall" I purchased one for under $5.00! Good Luck

I use a cone holder by Dritz...but it's not great..because it is so light weight..I would suggest getting the type that is all metal..with some stability!!!

I purchased a thread stand from Connecting Threads. It is reasonably priced and comes with a very heavy base that will not tip over.

Put your spool in a quart jar and let the thread lay over the top of your machine. O I use a wooden dowel with a hole drilled in it, Put it on your thread stem and then put the thread on it upside down.

My husband made me one out of a block and a long rod with a loop on the top. he also put in three dowels that would hold extra spools
