Her first "practice" quilt

Awhile back I posted that my oldest daughter wanted me to
teach her how to sew and quilt. I purchased a cheap sewing machine for her from WalMart and gave her more than enough supplies to get her started. Yesterday she even joined the QB. This is a picture of Didrika2013 (my daughters QB name) first attempt at making a "quilt" its to small to be a lap quilt. But she was to excited to wait for "sewing lessons" and such also she wanted to get a "feel" for the rotary cutter (never used one before). This is what she made, of course I will give her kudos for trying and not shying away from it. Sure looks better then the first attempt I did. What a wonderful job!! I love her quilt and her color choices. Keep up the good work.

She did FANTASTIC!!!

I love the fabrics and love the colors, good job. I'm glad that her "feel" for the rotary cutter wasn't a literal feel.

Yeah. Another quilter is born. Great quilt and it was made with love, who could ask for more.

It's fun to know we've got a new and very excited quilter. Good job to both of you - newbie and teacher.

She did great - glad she is excited and hopefully you'll have many happy hours of quilting with your daughter!!

Great Start! Hope she continues to love the craft. Can't wait to see her next project.

Fantastic start!

Certainly is better than my first attempt. It is lovely. She is on her way and I hope she continues quilting and finds joy is the creation and in giving quilts to others to bring them joy. Nothing better than that,is there?
