Hexagon quilt for cuddling under

3 Attachment(s)
Our cousin has had surgery for pancreatic cancer and will start chemo in a week's time. So I decided to make her a small cuddle quilt to keep warm while reading or watching t.v. as she goes through six months of treatment. I hope it will make her feel loved and warmer during the rainy days ahead. It's not a perfect quilt but at least I can call it "done."

Bless your heart! It is pretty and bright and cuddly, I'm sure.

That's BEAUTIFUL - bright and cheerful! :) :) Your cousin will DEFINITELY feel the love and positive thoughts you put into your lovely gift!!! :) :) Best wishes!

I love the bright, cheery colors and pattern. It's vibrant and such a token of love. I can assure you that your cousin will feel your love every time she covers up with that quilt. My friend just finished her chemo and she took it to every chemo treatment and felt my love when I couldn't be nearby .Prayers for your cousin go up as I type this.

Love hexies. Your colors are great. What size are your hexies?

Camille 01-26-2015 06:32 PM

I love your quilt. It's bright and cheery. Your cousin will love it and will warm her heart. My cousin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and just finished her chemo. I made her a quilt too and she cuddles under it all the time. Our hearts are in the right place. Prayers for your cousin's recovery.

Thank you! The sides of the hexagon pieces are 4 1/2".

Best wishes to your cousin whilst she undergoes her therapy. Just snuggling under that quilt will make her feel a whole lot better.

Very cute quilt and it will be appreciated while getting chemo. Went with my sister for about 8 months and always dressed in layers, was even cold in the summer.

That's good to take to wherever the chemo is given. Most infusion centers tend to be cool and that would cheer everyone up and be a great conversation starter. Just about everyone knows someone who quilts/quilted and I'm sure stories would start!

Gorgeous quilt with wonderful fabric selection! She will love it. I also like the contrasting backing!

Jitterbug 01-27-2015 07:34 AM

While I can see the love and hope that went into this quilt, she will feel it. It will be the comfort she needs on so many levels. It is lovely. I love the quilting with the various patterns flowing together. It is done so beautifully.I stopped and sent up a prayer for her immediately when I began to read of her cancer. I will put her down on a list that I keep whenever I see someone mentioning the need of prayers, so I can continue to pray for her as she journeys ahead with this battle.

ManiacQuilter2 01-27-2015 10:27 AM

I am sure she will treasure it for the difficult months ahead and will give her much comfort.
