Homework from Design It Quilt It
2 Attachment(s)
I am taking a class over the internet at craftsy.com. It takes designing a wholecloth and breaks it down into managable parts along with teaching awesome quilting techniques. The quilt is 40x 40. If I would do it again, I would quilt the outer edge with red thread. The quilt is actually a bright red. The color on the photo is way off.

Wow! That is gorgeous! Is that class geared towards long arm quilting or domestic machine quilting?
|
Fantastic! Job well done.
|
Oh Wow Deb, you did an excellent job! Doing those feathers in a circle is not easy. When you said you'd use Red thread next time I thought ?????. LOL... It looks hot pink from where I'm sitting. I agree with matching the thread to the fabric for the background fill work. Would really make the feathered wreath pop off the quilt. I like to use SoFine when doing that kind of quilting.
|
Very nice work!

There is the KISS rule, Keep it simple stupid. She doesn't say that but she follows it. I have taken other craftsy classes but this one is one that a experienced beginner would benefit from as well as totally experienced quilters. So the class teaches both quilting patterns such as feathers and backgrounds and designing a wholecloth to hold those wonderful quilting elements. She just made it so easy. |
