I love that fabric series. I bought the panel last winter in AZ and recently finished a bed throw. Was a lot of fun finding all the different fabrics to go with it. I did this using the quilt as you go method.

I also have that same panel, purchased this summer in Walla Walla at a quilt show.
I had thought to use it on the back of the quilt. It's too beautiful to chop into pieces so I'll use the piece whole.

Oh Viv, the colors are great...I can't wait to see the finished quilt. Happy Holidays and have a great time in Arizona! Barbara

Don't you just love the Laurel Burch fabric line? She really did have a wonderful touch with whimsical animals and those vibrant colors. I also have a pile of her fabrics and am waiting for inspiration to hit.

Annie, in this case inspiration was a long time in coming. I have worried over this quilt for ages. I have purchased more 1/2 yard pcs of fabric, trying to see just what would look good. I have fussy-cut squares, I have snow-balled squares, I have half-square triangled squares, I have 'floated' squares, and through it all inspiration was hiding out.
Finally, after really spending time at it, I decided it would be nice to 'look out the window' and see these horses. That was it. Attic Windows. Then, for the colors. I went back and forth, but finally I called it a day and went with my first choice. There it was. I've got two rows done now, and it is looking pretty good. I'll post as soon as it's done. Good luck with yours.
