Here are some pics of a quilt that I finished yesterday. It'll be a birthday present for my mother-in-law whose birthday is next weekend.
It's made from a layer cake collection called "Mill House Inn" by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda. I just made hourglass blocks out of the layer cake layers since I wanted something simple to showcase the nice fabrics in the collection. I picked some yardage from the same collection for the borders, backing, and binding. The quilt measures 54" x 81", and I did free-motion quilting all over it. |
Very nice, Eddie! I never tire of that block. That fabric collection is gorgeous.

Don't you just love moda fabrics, they make even a simple block look so fabulous,....of course being the great quilter you are doesn't hurt either! Great job Eddie, wish I could churn them out as fast as you!

Eddie--how many quilts did you make in 2009? I'm totally amazed! And you are doing such a great job! How long have you been quilting? My husband started quilting last year, but was ill and hasn't picked it up in awhile. And then I had foot surgery which prevented me from using my machine to sew (I still did some hand piecing...). I'm hoping we can get going again on the long list of quilts we want to do, now that the holidays are behind us and I am walking again.
Anyway, just wanted to say, but took a long time saying it--good job! |

LOVELY quilt. I like the way the back comes around to the front in the border. SMART to use that pattern w/those lovely fabrics. The recipient will be thrilled! GREAT JOB!

Everytime I see a new line from Moda, I wonder what to do with it and say to myself, "well, I'll just wait until Eddie makes something and then I will know what it looks like"! You haven't disappointed me yet. Just beautiful. |
