House quilt
1 Attachment(s)
I made the house blocks a couple of years ago, but couldn't decide how to put them together. I decided to add some other blocks that represent important events/things in my life--children, pets, hobbies, etc. It's 72x48 and minimal straight line quilting. I decided to hang it on the landing of our stairs where we have a tall wall. It was kind of fun to make, but I'm glad it's done!

How very clever. You could pin on buttons for each holiday. Wreath shapes, pumpkins, etc.

I am not much into house quilts but when I seen this one I fell in love with it! The color and everything is beautiful. Great job!
Your houses and neighborhood are adorable! The lil personal touches you added absolutely make the quilt "come to life".
And I love Tesspug's idea of "decorating" the houses for different occasions... |
Love your house quilt and the color choices.Very creative..........
I love the simplicity of this pattern as most 'house' patterns look complicated. Nicely done.
What a darling village. I would not mind living there. Great job.
Love the extra blocks you mixed in! They really make the quilt something different and special.
Fun quilt! I am sure you smile each time you see it!! :)
Really great job!
Great way you assembled your blocks in varying positions. Gives it real interest instead of ho-hum, especially with your little add-ons.
Cute quilt, love the little extra's!!
A lovely neighborhood! :)
Thank you for all the nice comments. I am really pleased at how it dresses up the stair area. All the fabrics were scraps or leftovers from other projects, or fabric from my small (compared to many!) stash. When I am recovered from this project, I think I'll make another house quilt. I see so many cute ones when I Google them.
