My quilting project which I have been designing and working on for awhile now. Other ideas that I have at this point are beehive, church, houses, etc. I'm wanting to make another 6, still gathering appropriate fabric which can take up some time.

I'm needing some input on various types of accomodations that are inhabitated by humans, animals, fictional and will be making appliqued squares for same, once I get that figured out.

I would appreciate any input. Thanks for looking.

Gorgeous! Love your houses! Fantastic detail to your block especially the barn block! I can't think of anything that I could say that would add to the beauty in your blocks!

earthwalker 03-28-2011 10:45 PM

They are gorgeous...so detailed...this is going to be one terrific quilt. How about a castle (maybe Rapunzel), a burrow, a hobbit house, a log cabin....ok I'll be quiet now! Can't wait to see more.

Beffy_Boo 03-28-2011 11:57 PM

Your blocks make me smile. They're so delightful. Maybe you could make a bird cage, dog house, treehouse, and a camper. Can't wait to see more blocks.

PunkQuilter 03-29-2011 12:10 AM

What about a mouse door in the molding? A firehouse, teepee, log cabin, a child's playhouse....?

cctx. 03-29-2011 12:28 AM

Really cute, awesome work!

Izy 03-29-2011 01:39 AM

Fantastic! You are creating a masterpiece there, fantastic use of fabrics too..I LOVE it!!!

SueDor 03-29-2011 02:02 AM

Well I was going to suggest a treehouse, how about a nest, teepee. Would a bear cave be to hard?

Cute idea, can't wait to see it finished.

Kathios 03-29-2011 02:30 AM

What an original and unique quilt you’ve come up with! It’s going to be beautiful I love the blocks you’ve made so far. You’ve included so much gorgeous detail. What about an ice house? Can't wait to see what other houses you make and the completed quilt.

Claddaughquilting 03-29-2011 05:14 AM

Love them! Amazing work and creativity...you should copyright them.

Prissnboot 03-29-2011 05:20 AM

I agree with the others on the teepee. I also love the detail you are putting into this - what a great use of creativity! Here's one - you could make a bordello and call it a Cathouse!!! LOL

MamaBear61 03-29-2011 05:31 AM

Those are great blocks

Copyright is in the works, just need to complete the top.

Thanks to everyone for their input, there are some valuable suggestions on the quilt board today, now I can start to sketch out more blocks. Will post when I have completed the task at hand. Still looking for more valuable input, and once again thanking you all in advance.

Someone already suggested a bears den but how about a wolf's den? I love this and mentioned it to DH and he suggested the wolf's den. He also suggested a house boat. and eagles nest. If DH (or me) think of anything else I'll let you know. This will be such a cool quilt!

EDIT: Maybe this is going to far DH thought of Army barracks (he was in the Army.)

Scrap Happy 03-29-2011 07:06 AM

Did someone else already suggest doll house? This was another one of DH's ideas.

dunster 03-29-2011 07:22 AM

You are so creative! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Dani 03-29-2011 07:42 AM

Townhouses, attached and in a row, each a different color; dog house; bird house; fish bowl...thinking.

Sadiemae 03-29-2011 08:15 AM

Love it!

AngieS 03-29-2011 08:15 AM

That is awesome!!

earthwalker 03-29-2011 08:02 PM

A gypsy caravan, a pond....maybe a yurt.

asmmauer 03-29-2011 08:18 PM

Tartan 03-30-2011 07:50 AM

You are incredibly talented. Wow!

chairjogger 03-30-2011 11:04 AM

This is great ! "Who are the people in your neighborhood" Seseme Street came to mind..

Lots of fun in this quilt !!

justflyingin 03-30-2011 12:03 PM

A hut, the side of a mountain/cave like in Cappadocia, Turkey, a mountain chalet, palace, castle, a church/temple (a "house" of God or God's house ;)),

It's BEAUTIFUL.

How big are the squares? I'm soo impressed. Would love to try something like this when you get the pattern done. I'm not very creative/artistic, but I'm a great "copycat" :)

kraftykimberly 03-30-2011 12:33 PM

Teepee, boathouse, birds nest, castle, tree house, pineapple (although I only know of one that lives in a pineapple, that would be spongebob :-)

lollygagging 03-30-2011 09:34 PM

How about the Three Little Pigs' houses...Just a thought.

jackied 03-30-2011 09:36 PM

I like them all! The detail you are using in them is great. My favorite out of these is the birdhouses with the tree fabric. Be sure and let us see the rest.

bamamama 03-30-2011 09:38 PM

That is going to be an amazing quilt. I love those kind of projects, gets the creativity really cranking!

RuthFru 06-07-2011 04:31 PM

Your quilt is absolutely adorable. What about an ant farm or a dragon's cave or a parking garage for the cars.
